Quite striking differences when you see them next to each other. Yes I know it's M v non M but the M will still use the same basic bones.
I'd say the new one will be quite a bit longer too. 2 series becoming 4 series and 4 becoming 6 with these generations. |

Well, undoubtedly, the ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’ are going to be tossed around from now until the G87 M2/M2C are released . . . and for some time afterward as well.
As with most owners, I love my F87 M2C and it will certainly serve as standard by which the G87 M2C will be measured. Personally, I cannot wait for the G87 M2/M2C to be released. I assume the pics shared to date are of the G42. For a base model I think the G42 already looks pretty good . . . and will look and perform fantastic when BMW turns it into the G87 ///M car. ///AVM |

Wonder if people will wait out a year or 2 to see if there is another "competition" version planned. I know there's always something new in the pipeline but some owners may be wary this time around.

Wonder if BMW will go the same route as the G80 and announce both a regular M2 and a M2C at launch. Also, I wonder if they'll make 6 spd only for the base model as well... I was hoping to jump back into a 6 spd.

Very good point on 6spd in Competition. Maybe the M2 will still be the drivers car and BMW will still make the 6sp available. If not, the M2C 6spd just got a little more special in my mind
