I'm out of the loop

Is OBD BM3 flashing fixed? If so, who to order from?

just got this from protuningfreaks:

Hi

Thank you for reaching out . We're working on it. Our development M2C is in, we're hoping to have the OBD unlock relatively soon, but no ETA yet.

Hmm

BPMSport I see your obd tune offering but wanted to know if end-user can customize the settings on his own behalf down the road

Might be a question to be asked in the BPM thread, and not further polluting this one.

I'm waiting on PTF, use BM3 on my M5 and they have been on hand to help whenever. Can't fault them.

So i just tuned my M2 Competition yesterday. Since EAS was running a little special for BM3+install+dyno i decided to drop some coin since i'm going to tune at some point anyways. Anyways, here's the dyno of before and after. As the dyno shows i gained around 70 horsepower and 60 ft/lb of torque from Stage 1 tune, 91 California octane and not much adaptation, no other mods.

Thanks for sharing! However, this looks unusually low to me for stage 1, even for shitty 91oct. Not exactly apples to apples since they arenmt from the same day but here's another dyno result by EAS which was done for a stock M4 ZCP on 91oct:

Kind of a weird comparison, stock then modded m2 competition versus stock m4 competition. What did you reckon the Stage 1 should show at the wheels for 91 octane?

I'm definitely not an expert and this is just my observation I know there are a lot of factors when it comes to dyno results such as gas quality even on same octane, dyno setting, temp, dyno type etc. However, EAS has done quite a few dyno runs on various cars so I thought it's fairly reasonable to make some sort of comparison. By the way, they put another stock M2C a few months ago and it made around 397whp 443wtq consistenly on 91oct as far as I remember (https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1540709). Please take a look at this thread:

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1542700

Stage 1 91oct map did 513whp on 93oct gas but I don't expect such a result on our shitty California 91oct. That being said, I still think 454whp is still low for stage 1 considering other dyno results from EAS. I was honestly expecting 470whp or more for stage 1 91oct on a Dynojet which tends to read high in general.

Also, BM3 has two 91oct maps, one for regular 91oct and one for shitty 91oct that can be found in Arizona, California and Nevada. They call the latter "Stage 1 91oct ACN". I used my map credit towards the ACN map and might give it a try after testing CS+ a bit more. 91 ACN map might work better for you as well (not in terms of getting higher dyno reading but the car running more consistently without any knock etc).

UPDATE! All good now after quick help from Dzenan. Simple as clicking on Reset DME in diagnostics. Asked for help late last night. @7:38 am this morning he replied with the fix.
Easy easy. Great support from BM3. Now trying to put the M2 in nuetral without starting the engine must require witchcraft.

I had my m2c in for a Nav Screen repair. Of course they reprogrammed the ECU. I had flashed back to stock before taking the car in. Once back home I attempted to reflash the BM3.it showed an error, so I unplugged everything and left it as it was which was stock and locked. The car started and ran...... about a mile down the road and died. It will not restart. I asked for help at BM3 & I’m sure they’ll help. It just cranks and cranks. Will not start or attempt to fire. It’s like it’s out of fuel

Anyone here know something that would help? Biggest issue at the moment is getting the car in nuetral. Since it doesn’t start I can’t put it in nuetral to tow home.
Help

Pretty sure you can pry off the shifter console and there is an alan or fillister you ca. can rotate to engage neutral in a no start situation. If not then tow driver should have rollers for the rear wheels.

All good now for me. Sent a quick email last night asking for help. @ 7:38 this AM I got a response suggesting I click on DME reset on Diagnostics screen. That did the trick. Was worried. Especially since the car spent last night outside. Perhaps a little Devine intervention...(coasted to a stop in a church parking lot!)

Pretty awesome on the response time in my book. Now not so happy about not being able to put the car in nuetral without running. Of course that’s on BMW. Not BM3.

this seems really stupid. almost stupid enough for me to wish I could change to 6mt but now the car is in production anyway so it is moot.

Great find gmazet! I searched for sometime but didn’t come across this one. Perhaps this will help someone else. It should be in the owners manual. You don’t need that information until you really NEED it. It could really make a difference in an emergency situation.

0.10.072 app update is out for iOS, Android and Web:

Changes include:
- Fixes for layout (single column for dash in portrait mode) on Android Samsung devices
- Datalog viewer zoom in/out fix
- Scrolling fix for dashboard on iOS and Android
- Layout mode/repositioning activated through popup menu (press and hold on any gauge). Double-tap anywhere to exit layout mode.
- Double-tap on any gauge to start/stop datalogging (no button to press, its removed, tap anywhere instead)
- Top bar on the dash screen is removed for a cleaner look and getting valuable screen real estate back. Top bar is preserved on non mobile devices
- Visual indicator (infinite scroll progress bar) across the top of dash to indicate logging is running
- Visual indicator of agent status across the top in the dash when no connection to OBD/agent
- Fix for comments form on tune requests/maps going away as keyboard would come up. Now stays.
- OBD Agent Min version stays at 0.10.071 (i.e. no agent update)
