And that's basically fully loaded too considering this (probably) is a U.S. spec car. Can't tell from the photos if it has steering wheel heating which would be a part of the executive package for the US

I plan on forgoing any weight savings skipping the executive package might offer. The US car is so bloated with features already, might as well go for em all. As far as I'm concerned, the executive package is priced too well to pass up.

And I'm a no options kind of guy too.

Fair point. No wonder this car looks so good. Those things are so ugly looking.

I'm 5'10" standing on a dictionary. So if anyone out there is about to bail out of a prime spot on a waiting list because you're 'too tall' for the M2, pleeeeeze let me know. I will quite gladly take the car...
There will be 4 year of production.

There will be lots of cars.

Depends... I'm 6'4 and I can sit in the 2-series without problems. There isn't much space left behind the driver's seat, of course, but in the front it's not crammed at all. That's with manual seats and without a sunroof, though. With one or both of these options, space will be more limited, so avoid them if you can.

Thanks for the great photos!
Just did the math it's at 3193 lbs
Total weight of skids are exactly 650lbs
Is the trunk empty?

Not really. This has M DCT, so BMW's official figures are 1,520kg. And that 1,520kg includes the fuel tank at 90% full. A 52 litre tank filled to 90% would mean 46.8 litres, which weighs 35kg. So deduct 35kg from 1,520kg and you get 1,485kg. Still lighter, but these figures are not scientific and no conclusions can be drawn from this.

Furthermore there is a total weight shown on the photo which says: 1870kg => 4122 lbs -650 lbs = 3472 lbs

So nothing really new, because of inconsistent data...

assuming it has very little fuel in it, that's rather encouraging!

I really wouldn't be taking any notice of that photo and drawing conclusions about the weight.

When i go into work again, i will try get a picture of "how much fuel" is left in the tank.... Stay tuned!
just take the keys and drive it around until the tank is empty that will help us get a more accurate weight assessment

3450 lbs is official EU-weight including driver weight (75kg) and 90% of fuel (6MT).

So, there is a chance that M2 will put 1461 kg / 3214 lbs on the scales with an empty fuel tank.

You just need to put this "skid" on the scales and subtract 650 lbs, there you go!
