RCouchh's 2019 M2C Build Thread
Hi all, I'm @RCouchh and welcome to the build for my newly acquired 2019 M2C, 6MT in Hockenheim Silver. I picked up the car 9/30/20 with 9300 miles.
Figured I'd keep it stock until next season. Well, that was a silly thought considering the Subaru I came from Current Mod list: -Inozetek Maritime Blue Vinyl Wrap -Remus Race Axleback w/ black/carbon tips -AA Midpipe (UEL) -CS Style CF front lip -AAC CF MTC-style rear diffuser -AAC CF front canards (not installed) -APR GTC-300 61" Spoiler in F80 M3 fitment -M-Performance CF shift knob w/ alcantara boot -IND Paint Matched front reflectors -Acexxon honeycomb rear reflector deletes -Fullscreen CarPlay mod -M-performance aluminum pedals -20% Carbon tints all around, 50% ceramic windshield -Blackline taillight overlays Pics I took of our first week together First mod was window tints, I did carbon 20% all around. Ordered a Remus Race exhaust with the black/cf tips, as well as an AA midpipe. Should be here within the next week or so. Next thing was a CF rear spoiler Will continue to post updates as I do a more mods over the next few weeks. Plan to order some painted front side markers, honeycomb rear bumper inserts, a CF diffuser/front lip, maybe front canards. Few other small things for now. Next year wheels, possibly wrap. Slight drop Last edited by rcouchh; 05-22-2021 at 03:10 PM.. |

Great stuff! very eager to hear your thoughts on the remus paired with the AA, did you go for the equal length mid?

I was going back and forth for a while, but I actually went with the unequal for a few reasons. 1 - It would probably take a while to get my hands on an equal-length, and I'm super impatient 2 - Unequal is quite a bit more $, and I got a great deal on the normal. 3 - I'm hearing a lot of mixed opinions and people returning the equals 4 - I plan to go catless downpipes down the road and would want non-resonated now, but apparently it sounds bad non-res with catless dp's. |

Should have the car back tomorrow or Friday hopefully...
Then will be installing the exhaust. Picking up a used set of winter wheels/tires on Saturday as well. So much for the car being immobile this season Some AA midipipe weld porn in the meantime. Funny how these are significantly better than on the Remus, yet its so much cheaper. |

My winter setup has some rash so I figured it was a good time to change em to black. Went the DIY route and got some DipYourCar's Hyperdip in shadow black. 4 cans of dip and 1 of cleaner ran me about $60.
The product I must say is much much better than traditional dip. Significantly smoother spray (goes on like spraypaint), satin finish and feels much less rubbery/grippy. It is very thin so it can drip if you spray it on heavy. I had to be very careful and still got 2 drips in total. They're barely noticeable since they were probably on the 4th-5th coat. Did about 11 coats in total so it should hold up great. Overall very happy with the results. 1st light coat (50%) 2nd light coat (50%) 3rd normal coat Lost count of coats, used 1 can per wheel was probably about 10-12 all in all. Finished product |

One thing I will say, as long as you prep and use the right amount of coats it is always easy to take off. For thinner areas, using dip dissolver w/ a pressure washer makes it really easy. I didn't know that last time around either |

Had a recurring check engine for a misfire in multiple cylinders. Car was at the dealer for the last 2 weeks, my SA went back and forth with BMW NA and one of their engineers to figure out what it was. Pretty pissed it took so long, in the end all they replaced was the 6 plugs and 6 coils. Were going to do all the injectors as well but they ended up not having to. Hopefully it doesn't show back up.
Did the fullscreen CarPlay mod today when I got the car back. |

Got my windshield tinted in 50% ceramic today. Not too dark but makes a huge difference how harsh the sun is. Very pleased!
Put my rear diffuser on. Still debating whether I want to do the side blade portion of it. Overall fitment/quality is pretty shit (aa concepts). Going to mess with it more later to fix the gaps. And did some BMC filters w/ charcoal delete Last edited by rcouchh; 03-20-2023 at 11:02 PM.. |

Ugh, that's really too bad about the diffuser. Maybe it's the camera angle, but it really does look way off in that picture.
