Twin turbo N55
This is somewhere between impossible and stupid, but I wonder if it's doable and I'm bored so why not ask. The idea is to put the intakes, turbos and intercooler system from the s55 on the N55.
some the issues off the top of my head; (and limited knowledge) Custom manifold needed. ECU issues? |

I would recommend to check Castlevania on NETFLIX.
To put joke on the site, doing this is really bit pointless due to xyz reasons, but everything is double and it can only depend how much time & $$$ are you serious to throw into this build. N55 block is weaker compared to S55, and it would be cheaper to do S55 swap instead mounting stuff from S55. In reality what N55 really need is a ball bearing turbo. Better response more boost 100+ HP. |

it would be cheaper just to buy a bigboost n55 big single turbo kit. There already guys doing 682whp or 831 bhp on a stock m235i block.
you can probably hit 1000whp like the s55 if you build the n55 block...it would still probably cheaper then doing a s55 swap. on paper air to water intercooler is better but in my personal experience air to water is better until they get heat soaked and then they take forever to recover. For the street and canyons i think air to air is better. A lot of the 2000-3000hp gtrs you see half mile/mile racing are air to air. |

Until you have to worry about addressing the crank hub.

This is not a “should I” type of post. It’s hypothetical. So cheaper, better or smarter replies, while appreciated are missing the point. I’m more interested in what it would take.

The conversation is a waste of my valuable mental energy. I'll talk about things that have meaning and purpose, but pointless hypotheticals that have no basis of ever happening marks the entire discussion about what is needed and how it can be done as useless.

I wonder if an Alpina B3 engine could be dropped in....that's a Twin Turbo N55 from that group???
If attempted..that might be the "easiest" route to get 2 snails on the N55..alot of the hard work and guessing would already be done. |

If you consider me consoling your frustration about why the thread isn't going how you want is a waste of my valuable mental energy, then I think that tells me enough about continuing to reply.
