I have never seen this message. My engine is 100% stock, no tune. Had the car for 1+ years.

Well, that`s the message you get before break-in service.
You get it after that also if the dealer for some reason didn`t upgrade your software (like mine) |

I guess if it's only the OPF guys getting this message and i got them disabled with the tune, it can only be that.
Hopefully BMW won't notice when it goes in for a service lol |

Message is there to preheat the OPFs. Only applicable for EU cars. Doesn't happen on other cars.
Annoying when you want to do some revving, because you can only give it the beans when the message is gone and it takes about 30 seconds. MR |

Glad the U.S. does not have the OPF. Seems annoying.
Why can’t the E.U. People flash their cars with a U.S. DME flash? That way they can get rid of the the OPF signals. I remember recently my friend bought a new DME off eBay. He installed it. And was getting a engine code. $500 later in replacing parts. Turns out that code was for a 3 series car that did not pertain to his car. So he went to a shop and they flashed his DME with the correct Z3 flash. Why can’t thus be don’t with the m2? Flash the DME with a US DME. I’m sure it can be done. |

Mine does it, just during cold start fast idle phase., its CAT pre heating for 2 minute emissions targets.
Even with OPF removed and OPF disabled in BM3 map still does it. Hardly an issue, who wants to use full power from a stone cold motor? |

I rented a M2C last May in Germany from Sixt, received that message every time I started the car up as it's related to the OPF...of course one shouldn't drive the car hard right after starting it anyway.
Side note, the M2C in EU is much quieter than the US version, especially in regards to less exhaust burbles on decel.

That's weird, we have two other cars with OPFs (MB E53 Amg and Audi RS5) but none of the two has a power reduction at the startup.
And both sound way better than the M2C btw. |
