♛ HEX Tuning ♛ BMW M2 Comp (S55) w/ dyno plots

Happy Friday!

Just thought we'd share this before & after dyno set from another
extremely happy BMW M2 Comp owner.

This particular customer is from So Cal and has already begun
putting track miles on his M2!

His primary goal, aside from MORE POWER, was predictable
and smooth torque delivery as well as the the ability to map
switch between stock and tuned files on his own.

Once again, the results fall right into the middle of our advertised
gains (of +60-70whp / +65-75wtq ) which may sit a little bit on the
"conservative" side for the S55 in general, but will no doubt deliver
consistent and repeatable power every time he buries his foot!
(as has been the common thread for all of our S55 S/W since 2015!)

2018 BMW M2 Comp. - All Stock - CA 91 Octane
Peak Gains = +61 WHP / +65 WTQ
MAX Gains = +71WHP / +80 WTQ @ 4,675rpm

Tested on our in-house DynoJet

Will this tune work on the newer M2 Comp that have their DME updated from BMW?

Ahhh ... soo sorry everyone.
This thread actually beat our website update to the punch!

People have been ordering their ///M2 Comp software from
either that standard model M2 webpage, or from the M3/M4
(S55) webpage, and then adding the specific year/make/model
when they submit the software request online.

There will be a specific ///M2 (S55) webpage that will display all
of the specific details/differences after the weekend.
IE: dyno plots / images / videos / etc.

If anyone is super anxious to place an order over the weekend,
drop us a PM and I'll have something pretty cool on standby.

Also curious if this works with the latest version of BMW’s DME. I was under the impression that flash tunes were now locked out.

I understood that if your DME was updated to the March 2019 version it would replace the bootloader in the DME to a version that would lock out flash tunes through ODB. I PMd one of the tuners, they said to just not let the service dept. update the DME. I have read that one of the tuners have overcome the issue already. There is hope 😉

It’s not as easy as you’d think. If you have any issue warranty related, the first step the motherland approves is to update the software. You don’t have a choice.
My nav screen would go all fuzzy on occasion. The software update of course did not fix the problem. A new screen did fix it. Now I’m waiting for BM3 to find a work around.

We don't believe that BMW's bootloader update earlier this
year came with the intention of "blocking tuners", and have
not had any issues successfully flashing any ///M2 Comp. or
applicable late 2018 production M3/M4 models.

A couple of you PM'd and ask if we would publish dyno
plots from our Mustang AWD Dynamometer, knowing
that all of or in house development, testing, & validation
is a shared exercise between both machines.

Even better, we went one step further and included a STOCK
plot for a standard model BMW ///M2 (N55) for comparison.

As you can see from the dyno plot above, the delta gains
on the Mustang also fall right in line with our advertised
numbers - very similarly to the testing from our DynoJet -
despite the fact that peak values are noticeably lower.
(This is why the Mustang is commonly known as the
"heart-breaker" dyno.
)

2018 BMW M2 Comp. - All Stock - CA 91 Octane
Peak Gains = +57 WHP / +72 WTQ

And for those of you who may not be as familiar with how
to properly read and compare dyno plots, you can learn
more by visiting one of our most popular forum threads;

I’ve been in contact with VF concerning my M2C that has the latest DME updates from BMW.

They are currently working on a fix right now and expect to have a solution soon.

I’ll post up here in this thread with any news.
