Active Autowerke Mid pipe?

Hi all - I have the BM3 Stage 2 tune on my M2C - and catless DP's. The stock exhaust doesn't sound that bad with the current setup but I'm looking for a more 'throaty' sound - after researching, I'm leaning to the Active Autowerke mid-pipe, but with stock mufflers.
Anyone else have a similar setup? Thoughts?

So, I did the dp's first- felt a noticeable diff in power, then about a month later did the BM3/ST2 - it was scary fast but definitely felt the diff with traction off the line - tweaked it over the last few weeks and it's an animal. The dp's definitely changed the exhaust note - I hear the turbo's spooling now as well. I just purchased 763M's and next the mid pipe.
Comparing the 997TT - it was stock- I had that from '06 to '09 - I remember it being it being a beast off the line with the AWD, but the front lift scared the cr@p into me. Overall I got to say, the M2C is probably one the best cars I owned and driven - my E39 M5 is different, obviously not in the same power league, but from a driving enjoyment perspective, it's right up there - there's something about driving a stick shift, coupled with a V8 - I have the SuperSprint headers/exhaust - just sounds amazing too.
Thanks for confirming on the mid pipe - I'm buying it online today.

I would love to hear what dp, midpipe, tune car sounds like with the stock rear section. Seems like good bang for the buck, the 3 mods combined can be had for less than 1 axle back exhaust system.

Will have it soon when the mid pipe is on - actually, sounds pretty good with the DP's and Stg 2, with valves open - a pretty mean growl WOT.

No downpipes, but just had the AA midpipe put on today and it sounds so much better. That paired with the CS tune and flaps open

How much louder over stock with the flaps open 10%, 20%? What about with the flaps closed?

I've only run the AA mid pipe with the flaps open. Sounds great! About 30% louder and deeper. So glad I purchased it.

Interesting, most the people I've seen said 10-15% and it wasn't loud enough of a difference. If it's 30% that's good enough for me.

What about flaps closed, how much difference. You're on stock downpipes and rear section right?

Stock downpipes here, AA mid, stock rear. VSC-2 to keep the valves open, or closed if I'd rather.
I'd estimate more like 40% louder with the valves open, and the 10-15% louder with the valves closed seems accurate to me.

Yea I'd agree with evolved. I'm sure my tune helps the AA midpipe sound as well. It's really hard to put a number on it, but it is definitely noticeable and has a better tone.

I'm fine without needing an exhaust anytime soon with this mod, especially seeing how much BMW wants for the M performance exhaust. This is my daily and my other car sounds ludicrous and I don't want it like that.

Anyone who installed their own midpipe did you buy two front silencer gaskets for the downpipe connection to the AA midpipe? Apparently these are needed and are one time only use. These provide a rattle and leak free connection.

Here is the part.

Here is the youtube video about it.

So did you take out your original round gaskets from your downpipe and install them on your AA midpipe?
