Any update?

I didn't have time to have the dealer investigate yet...

Thank you - I tried this over the weekend - no luck. Going to have to pester BMW into resolving.

Currently waiting for BMW to get back to me. I had actually just received a call from my SA indicating that they've been going back and forth with BMW NA and Germany trying to source the trunk bluetooth module. They are currently trying to have that part (the only other part in the bluetooth pairing) replaced. I have the car going in for oil change on the 9th, will likely be receiving an update then. I will update here when I hear anything.

Your video is exactly what happens with me, completely random disconnects. For the past couple weeks, I've actually opened the valves and disconnected the system altogether - permanently open lol

Update: Dealer replaced the entire exhaust. So far for the past couple days, it's been working flawlessly. Will keep an eye on it, but definitely has made a difference so far.

A nice bonus has been that the annoying rattle on cold start is now also gone.

Seems to still be working flawlessly. Pretty sure they had a batch of faulty bluetooth modules for these exhausts.

Hey man, by entire exhaust, does that mean even what's in the trunk or only the catback?

Thanks for the update, will have to go through the same I guess!

Everything! Catback and all electronics. In their system, it all comes in as one package part when it's ordered. They had to swap it all out. The only thing that remained were my original CF tips as those are separate part numbers in their system.

Yes you can, separate part from the dealer. It can then be paired with your installed MPE system.

UPDATE: BMW finally resolved the issue, although it was a pain in the ass. The BMW I bought the car from (South Bay BMW) had it transferred from Norwalk BMW, Norwalk BMW were the ones that put all of the aftermarket items on the car from new; carbon fiber goodies, MPE, Dinan tune etc., because it had a Dinan tune on the car, South Bay BMW wouldn't touch it and sent it to Norwalk to fix.... finally, they replaced the whole controller unit and bluetooth switch and now I have the sweet sounds of a fully functioning MPE.... Although the car doesn't feel as quick as it was before... it could be just me, but the tune doesn't feel as powerful as it was...

M Performance Exhaust Issues

Hi ALL,

I have the m performance exhaust in my M2 one of the first in the UK and of course i also have the issue with the flaps closing randomly, some time after a couple of minutes some times never some times after a couple of hours. Have tried pretty much everything to sort the issue from replacing the remote control battery, to pushing the fuses all the way in, to closing Bluetooth on mobile etc nothing helped. I really dont want to change the exhaust as i really like the sound but the closing of the flaps randomly is very annoying.

I have read from other forums members that they have disconnected the module on the trunk and kept the flaps permanently open. Please can someone explain how to do that as i am not familiar with the connections and i have tried to open the flaps then shut the trunk module off from the button but it doenst work next time i start the car flaps are closed.

Hi guys i have the same issue with the flaps closing randomly on mpe, have tries all solutions on this thread nothing worked.

Please can someone describe how you unplug the module in the trunk in order for the flaps to stay permanently on. Do you disconnect the battery to do this or just a cable ?

I have tried to switch the central module in the truck off from the switch but then flaps close immediately.

I'm gonna hijack the thread a bit. Does anyone else have a problem with the remote?
I'm having to double click the button several times before it will react. Could it be just weak battery?

Anyone? How about disconnecting the valves and leaving them open. Can it be done in the trunk or do I have to do it on the valve side?

I have many doubt about install the mpe because if I am right the original wiring is discontinued and basically you lost the valve operation from the engine ecu and from sport button. Is this correct.

I found a solution on the paper that could work much much better than the stupid by button

Bmw produce this y cable 18302414899 that could avoid bt modul and use the original ecu connector

Ok, figured out how to simply disable the BT valve control. Turn the car on, open the flaps, disconnect the main harness from the BT controller.
