Being in Chicagoland, I was fortunate enough to pop out to iND and have them install the wheel they so graciously helped me out with!

I love a heated wheel but wanted OEM and full alcantara. Factory options for alcantera are not heated and not continuous coverage. iND had the answer! Factory heated wheel with custom full alcantera.

Very happy with the final product!

(also had to throw on the matte carbon trim to tie it all together - picked up used from the forum marketplace!)
Looks great !

Very nice! Do you have any concerns about how it will hold up over time?

IMO alcantara wheels do not hold up well at all (sorry poster), so look great in low touch areas. But as long as you have the original wheel you can always go back

Thank you!

I read similar feedback as to what @BigKutta mentioned leading up to the decision but went through with it.

Can always go back!

I'd also black out the blue areas on the roundels with some vinyl:

Does that plate save you from potential tickets, not the personalization but the endorsement?

I had an NYPD "officer's relative" PBA wallet/card once but it didn't always work, so I ditched it..

People with these plates think it gets them leniency or gets them out of tickets, which is why I got the personalization. It's basically just a joke making fun of the whole premise.

As for first-hand experience, I haven't been pulled over since I got it (knock on wood) so I have no idea. I'd imagine the cop would either laugh or give me a lecture.

I installed my black badge and saved $75 in the process. I went to ECS and got the M2C black badge and trimmed the competition off. The M 2 part is IDENTICAL.
$114 from IND to $42 from ECS =
I don't mind spending money but HATE wasting money...

Sorry about the sideways image. Love my iPhone but can't figure how to get images to display right

not to burst your bubble but the $100+ IND on you're referencing was created before an OEM black badge existed and they take an original chrome badge and paint them black which adds to the cost. They now also offer the oem M2C badge which is black but probably for full MSRP knowing IND.

Just figure I would clear up your confusion in case others stumble across this. So really you didn't save as much money as you think

Just doing a FYI if someone wanted to get the cheaper OEM M2C instead of getting the painted IND M2

Went to a local tuner shop which was apparently well known in the track / autox crowd. I had them raise up my KW HAS a bit to get corner balancing then assess my suspension for a weird shaking / vibrating on braking and turning. They saw nothing wrong, said it was my brake rotors causing shaking, and a few hundred CAD later i'm out with an aligned/corner balanced car.

Issues continued so this morning, two weeks later, I took it to a local BMW dealership knowing that I won't get any warranty coverage but at least getting their foreman to assess. I used to work at this dealership when in university and its the same techs 5 years post-grad so I trust them. Within 5 minutes of the car on a hoist they found worn front "wishbone control arms". They said if anyone was aligning the car or fiddling with the coils it would be obvious with just "shaking it".

Paid way more than I expected for the part, install, and re-alignment despite given a small discount. I'm a front line hospital worker so the added stress from COVID, family losing jobs, and this unexpected expense really hurts...

Also asked them to drive the car for a clutch chatter. I specifically stated to do city driving.. they didn't so it couldn't be replicated. On my drive home from the dealer. Within two 4 way stops the chatter showed up.

On the plus side. I can turn left and hit my brakes without the car feeling like it's falling apart.

I think what he was saying was that ind sells the same oem m2c badge at almost the same price as ecs so you really didn't save much. What you seem to be stating is that you can save money going oem vs custom painted. That's great and all but I personally wanted a matte black badge instead of gloss because my car is BSM so that extra money spent was worth it to me. I'm sure there are other people out there as well who don't want gloss black and it's great that ind offers other options.
