Hardware required to mount aftermarket seats.
Has anyone found a solution to a simple slider setup for aftermarket seats using a side mount?
Almost everything I've see requires using the parts off the OEM seats to get this done. I'm currently looking to install the either the Sparco QRT-Carbon's, or the Cobra Nagaro's. Is anyone able to provide links to get all the parts needed? TIA, Steve

For turnkey solutions (without piece-mealing them together), you basically have 2 options:

I would recommend you avoid the Macht Schnell setup. I had a pair and couldn't get them to fit anywhere near what I'd like and ended up returning them to go with Brey Krause fixed mounts which I use with a pair of Recaro Profis.
I originally wanted sliding mounts, but short of doing what's done here, I couldn't find a setup that would allow me to do what I wanted easily (swap back and forth). The fixed mounts are good and do what I need them to do, but the install could still be easier. Because the inside mounting locations of the seats are so close to the tunnel, everything fits very tightly, especially when using the stock belt tensioner/buckle. The seats can be placed extremely low using this setup and the brackets are relatively lightweight all things considered. Last edited by M1500Z; 03-04-2021 at 10:58 AM.. |

With that said I would prefer sliders, but fixed will work as well. What did U need to purchase to get the fixed setup to work w/o reusing the OEM seat mount arts?

All I needed to purchase were the BK mounts themselves. You remove the seat belt tensioner/buckle from the original seats and install it on the corresponding side mount with the included hardware. The rest is just coding out the various electronics that were removed from the car.
The problem with the Macht Schnell mounts is that they are very wide. I had to fight with them to get the driver’s side to fit. Once installed, it didn’t allow time to get the seat as closely centered to the wheel as I’d like. Even with the fixed mounts the seat isn’t centered, but it’s close and I’m not as picky as some are about this. If I were to remove the stock tensioner, I could probably get the seat centered. |
