Except you know these people have been parking cars without sensors for a long time. So you only said this to be an asshole. Funny thing is I don't generally hear people say this type of stuff to someone's face, just from a distance on the internet where there is no risk of typed words becoming a physical assault.

And now we return to our previously scheduled topic: Has anyone discovered yet that Hockenheim Silver is pretty close to the new White Silver Metallic on the 2018 GTI?

Very true.

Less is more for me.

The M2 is the last bmw I will ever buy unless there is a manual gt3 M2 version.

I'm very blunt in person as well. Also, if someone was to physically harm me in person for verbally offending their parking abilities, they have another thing coming.

Oh they have another thing coming? Like what? You're going to ask them about their backup camera? Perhaps tell them you don't need navigation because you navigate by the stars? Instead of needing heat they should remember to bring a jacket?

Too many metrosexuals on this forum that are worried about parking sensors, leather dash, dct, etc. Those people should head to the M5 and M4 forums.

With that kind of logic, you don't need a helmet, master kill switch, fire extinguisher, roll cage and airbags inside your race car, because - unlike us mere mortals - you are perfect (let's settle for keeping the seat belts: useful for deceleration and cornering). And, hence, you can do without all the extra weight of those totally redundant features that only exist for crash prone sissies (or for unfortunate encounters with those imperfect peeps, which you can perfectly avoid).

I know a guy who never wears his seat belt: "I don't need that - I know how to drive cars", he says. He doesn't know the meaning of the word fear - in fact, he doesn't know the meaning of a lot of words.

On a serious note: if someone likes modern day creature comforts, please respect that choice. No-one forces you to tick the PDC option when ordering a car.

By the way, forget for a moment all the obstacle-low greatness of race circuits: how awesome are you in parking an M4 GTS in front of a nasty high curb in the urban jungle ? And, yes, BMW offers PDC even for that car.

Yes and it looks great on the GTI. It'll look great on the new M2 also.

Your work is fine. It's that eyesore of a grille that's unsettling.

To the best of my knowledge, there is an updated M2 coming this summer. Let's call it M2.1. It is rumored to have an S55 motor and a light silver color in place of MG and will replace the current model. Expect News in April.

There is also another item that's rumored to be coming and let's call it M2.2 I like to call it *further progress*. Not much is known although are lots of bread crumbs that I can't be bothered to try to piece together into a loaf.

All I know is that whatever is coming , I have no interest if it's DCT only. I might as well buy an X3M if I'm gonna have to get a $75k vehicle where I can't select the gears manually. I would rather buy a new track car though.
Thank you for the summary.

I am sort of in the same boat - although I think you're being facetious. I might seriously consider an X4M if the DCT goes away for the M2/3/4 and if everything is going to have versions of the same engine (and therefore similar characters).

I've only had my F80 for about a year, but I am itching to get something else - it's a great car and does a lot of things well, but I don't love it. I have been holding out for a higher capability/power M2 (not because the current level is insufficient, but because I think I would miss ~100 BHP between the S55 and N550T0). Maybe the M2.1 or M2.2 will fit that bill...

This question might drive you nuts, but I shall ask anyway. do we anticipate any interior updates in either of the potential version updates?

I'm a bit confused. Are you advocating violence for telling someone they suck at parking? Don't get off the subject.

It’s fascinating how so many of these threads descend into aggression. It’s also interesting to note which people you might want to have a beer with to discuss cars, and which people you would not.

That front lip is way more spendy dude than a $2000 bumper cover bro. And it absolutely could save your life with all that additional downforce. You Better get the PDC bro-ham.

I'll assist! So the M4 ZCP seats are supposed to be optional on the M2 "competition". I believe they will be covered in Dakota leather like the current M2; you'll also have the option of blue or orange stitching.. I think, too, perforated dakota will be an option - whether that's tied to the upgraded seats or not, IDK.

I have a local dealer offering a great deal on an '18 M2 6mt but I'm torn on whether to get it (as the current M2 is sufficient for me) or wait to hear more info on the official release of the "competition". I feel the "competition" will have a base MSRP below $60k with options moving it to upper 60's if fully loaded, kinda like the RS3. If that's the case, I might regret not waiting a bit to spend similar money on the more powerful car.
