Not at all. I've said repeatedly on here, I wanted the new M2 to look better and be better and would love to take a big depreciative trade in on my CS to buy something new I know is the better car. But sadly, that's not the case and the new car falls short of my personal expectations.

I'm hoping we get a G87 CS or CSL that gives me that feeling.

I love the BMW brand and if people want to buy the new M2, that's great and I'm excited for them.

The G87 CS will have the same transmission as my loaner car today, ZF 8 speed.

I'm in no way an SUV guy but if I was this is pretty cool. Extra points that your butt doesn't hurt in this car. It doesn't hurt in my CS either. That earlier poster must think we have uncomfortable seats.

G87 is a great car for people other than me.

If you want a G8x car with the ZF, the M4 CSL is the choice. All other G8x cars with the ZF will end up being inferior to it.

I've driven a few cars with the ZF (the one in the Giulia Quadrifoglio was the best version, those paddles!), but the DCT in the M2 CS has far surpassed them. I'm quite curious what BMW can do with programming in the CSL to try to make it close.

The ZF8 in the Jaguar Project 8, Alfa GTAm and M5 CS has been tuned pretty well. The M-DCT shifts faster for sure, but if you turn all the aids off in a car, it will unseat the rear axle on shifts in all the F series cars.

It's possible the ZF will do the same in the retune, or just feel to sluggish. It seems like YouTube videos show fast upshifts, but the downshifts could still be slow

I think an unseated rear axle is part of the appeal..

Fully agree. I've had a DCT in the F80 (good) and a SMG in the E60 M5 (horrible) and the F87 CS DCT implementation was imo the very best (and last ) implementation M did. Vale. Onwards PDK.

Here is a video of a G87 in the wild under normal sunlight:

The G87 design is not for me. Drove the CS on some back roads during a perfect fall day today and I loved every second of it. When I get out in parking lots I still look back several times as I'm walking away like a total dork.

Thanks for that video. It is certainly too boxy for me but beauty is in the eye of the buyer. I think I like the subtle wheel flairs and maybe those wheels too. What do blue brake calipers signify?

Carbon fiber roof already. CF grill. Some splitters and spoilers here and there, a CF hood, some CF inside, an engine tune, a CS badge out back and you can charge an extra $25K. Easy peasy.

I wonder how the car in the video drives and handles compared to our CS? If comparable, it would then just be a beauty contest.

Drove my CS with the whole family in on Sunday (4 of us in the car). No complaints about leg room either. Lots of room in this car if you don't set your driver's seat like a banana lounge.

That makes it weigh the same as a G series car. Weirdly enough it felt more like a G series car too. Still quick of course but less "urgent" and with a smoother ride.

Sounds like you had a great outing. The four functional seats of the F87 CS are vastly under appreciated.

Have driven several times with my F22 fully loaded with passengers and never heard a complaint (apart from the slight inconvenience of getting in the rear seats). Slick tops add even more headroom!

Same. Not once have I parked my car and not looked back at it, and I've had it for over a year (which is a record for me).

I think as others have said that the F8x will be a high water point for the M2. G series is so heavy. Looks fugly and drawn by an amateur to be contrarian and edgey for the sake of it. It won't age well whereas our M2CS will.

here is topgear's take on the CSL gearbox on track

fast forward to around 6:50 "....the gearbox is great on upshifts, but its got no place in a sports car"

i've had a 2013 335i, and driven the new supra. not a fan
