I think you got it. To me Mystic normally looks darker than Le Mans, but that is probably true in low light or twilight. When it's in the sun like this pic it has a very similar hue to Le Mans, at least from this angle head-on.
I only inquired because at the end of the E46 model run I tried to secure an Individual paint M3 Comp in Le Mans and was denied by BMWNA. I know there are probably a couple out there in LMB, but they are as rare as a unicorn. I've managed to get over it in time and chalk it up to the 'Dreams I'll never see' category. Just like the CS.

Haha. I always laugh at these simplistic cop-out characterisations of BMW being influenced by 'Asian' preferences. I think that's an insult to Asian style direction. The designs coming out of Mazda, Genesis, Hyundai and Lexus are more often than not beautiful these days. Wish the same could be said about Munchen

I knew as soon as I posted the comment about Asian influence in the design language that somebody would jump on it, it is love or hate. In my case, I struggle with BMW going down that path. There are some nice Asian designs and cool cars, no disagreement at all!

Bangle era headlights and hoffmeister kink.
Other than that, it does not look like a bmw. Relative to its half baked looking g8x older brother, at least there is some proportion with the white car. The current 2cs is really a classy looking bulldog. Actually all of the f87 M2s look good. The weight savings on the 2cs in the nose really helps the steering but I really only noticed after jumping out of my M2 comp. |

At least the roof appears a bit lower now. People do need to remember you are looking at a CS vs an M240i... compare the M235i at launch to this. The G87 will be awesome.

Frank Stephenson, designer of the original X5, has weighed in on the new 2-series, and it's safe to say he's not a fan...

The G42 looks more like a cross over than a sports coupe. BMW for the love of....

One thing I really like about the F-Chassis models styling was specifically the very crisp and hard bodylines, specifically the shoulder line/creases which typically would run from front to back. Most of the G-Chassis models sadly softened these lines which make it look a bit more bloated compared to the sharper lines which slim the vehicle but also make them look very striking when the sun hits them.

Something about the new one just looks weird. The grille, the triangles on the front bumper, the entire rear end, etc.
Still a decent enough looking car that I wouldn't cross it off my shopping list. But the F87 is soooo much better looking.
