^ While both very sporty cars, the layout is different of course.
1 engine placement 2 4 vs 2 seater 3 Turbo vs NA engine I would say they are complementary cars. Both the best in their own league |

This is a great comment and I think is where a lot of the "Vs." discussions go wrong. It's like arguing over Filet Mignon versus Prime Rib is better. Different, and best in their classes. Just enjoy each for what it is and get both if you can!

I find this a very interesting comparison. The GT4 is a widely-respected car in most circles, but from what I've seen, the M2 CS is seen as just another wacky BMW special-edition. Obviously within the BMW community we know that it's something very special, but that doesn't seem to be the general consensus (unless someone's driven it.)
I think the GT4 is a superior car on paper, but the CS will beat it in smiles per mile. It's wilder, a bit more powerful, and has WAY more torque. This is one of my favorite projects from BMW in a while. |

Now I reeeaaally have to find a CS to drive. Can it be that much better than a Competition?

Doesn't change that the GT4 is a fabulous track car, and just an amazing mid-engined piece of work at a great price really for what it is. There's nothing bad about the car, and I'll want one badly until I get one in the garage, but when it comes to choices, usability, and non-track dedication, the CS won, and other choices also made their way above it and the GTS 4.0

Ah! No. Local dealer has an MSRP max policy. I also played a little game on some stuff BMW offered, so I should get the car with about 1500 cash back when all is said and done. I had to put down $3500 as a deposit to secure their first allocation about a year ago, but I was confident in the decision, and they had 2 more people walk in within 24 hours after me to deposit (accepted second deposit in the hopes of more than one car, and turned away 3rd person).
