Exactly correct. The M2 Competition with the S55 engine will be quicker than the N55. Also we should remember that although the factory S55 in the M2 will be "de-tuned" it can easily be tuned to increase boost, torque, and horsepower.

I think I'll pass on HS as well. Always liked black cars but never had courage to have one so might order BSM this time. |

I added Dinan Stage 3 to my M4; plus all the other Dinan goodies and it bumped my horsepower to roughly 568 hp (extrapolated from 481 hp on the dyno). I see no reason why the S55 engine in the M2 could not be re-tuned, and that will certainly be my plan.

See I think it has a lot of potential - the lighter colors are certainly easier to take care of, and this one looks like it could be really pretty. Can’t wait to see it.

Yes I agree that a black car would need more care when washing and waxing to avoid those nasty scratches and swirl marks. Variety makes the world go around and I suppose that's why the various colors for one to choose from.

I'm very curious to find out how soon after the April 25th unveiling allocations will be released to the dealers and when the ordering process will begin? I'm number 5 on my dealer's wait list ($1k deposit). I'm hoping that he receives a couple of allocations per month which might put me into Sept. for ordering?

The first 718 Boxster Spyder video dropped and the exhaust seems to sound like a 4 cylinder turbo. If the GT4 also gets the same engine like last time, that car will not be very interesting. Well, at least to me.
I really hope BMW does something very special with the M2 Competition or confirms something else coming up in the near future. |

For sure it will be faster, but can we expect it to stay under 4 second for the 0-100 km/h? What about M driver's package....? Will be the limiter moved from the actual 280 to 300 as it is in the new m5? At least for the EU version i mean. |

In addition, there could also be another U.S. specific one. This is all I know right now, so please don't expect any clarifications. |
