Knowing that BMW is gearing this car to be the lowest price point for entering their "M" line, it is understandable that it will lack some of the features of its larger brothers. Apart from what has already been verified, I am hoping for the CF roof. I feel like that should be easily achievable to include in all the M models (doesn't truly cost them that much $ to throw in). I, like most of you, am most concerned with the N550T0. I had an n54 135i and after a few modifications fell in love with FI and the torque (compared to my previous e46 m3s). I am not too concerned with the hp/ torque numbers from the factory, but the potential the car has for tuning and harnessing some more power. Hopefully the new 0T0 has some nice improvements over other N55 iterations. The M2 size is ideal for me, I would prefer not having to look into an F80.
Right, I just didn't know if you knew the red one existed at all, should have been more clear.

Without wanting to get all negative... This one single day of pictures, news and nuggets of information has me more swayed to F80 M3 than ever before.

I won't be making the decision until nearer the time as I'm number 1 at t my dealers anyways.. But I made sure when I placed the deposit that I could be transferred to F80.

Come on BMW don't water it down too far!!!

To be completely honest, I don't have much experience with turbo engines period, mine have all been NA, so to me, the regular N55 in the M235i felt "fine" to me for what I'll be needing the car for.

I'm not going to read too much into this, but did you just more or less confirm no CF roof? Either way, you haven't been wrong before so I can't say I'm particularly surprised.
He meant that the items will be included. Originally he had "No CF roof" bolded too, I think.. but maybe he edited it.

Note that Scott in the post claimed that there will be additional features that are not shown on the car at this moment. Hood bulge???

This line already exists naturally on the M235i. It looks more pronounced here because the fender is more pronounced overall. See the picture I'm attaching.

Well guys, I do not know if this is the right thread for this info, but a german m-forum member, who knew the facts of the S55 engine half a year before the M4 was presented, told us today that the M2 will get 386 PS and it will weight 1484kg.

I wanted to share this informations with you because I can imagine that you are also waiting for every little information as we are in germany. Personally I do not know it this is true, but he was also right a year ago (M4).

That would equate to 3272 lbs. If true, I'd be pretty shocked. Of course we have seen all sorts of varying numbers for the M3/4 until it was actual measured by testers and forum members.

Shocked in a positive or negative way?

Well, he's a insider in perhaps a similar way than one person (s....) it is in this forum and he knew the facts of the S55 very very early.

We have to wait and see if it is true or not.

Hm, I disagree, I definitely see a less pronounced version of that line on a current M235i when in the right light. I do see those bolts. Weird. Must not be a production fender. This could be an M235i body with bolted panels. Could explain the lack luster hood.

Shocked in a positive way for sure. But then again, last time this happened, BMW said that the F80 would weigh 3300 lbs, and it ended up weighing that much without any fluids, which does no one any good. Who here is driving around with no motor oil and coolant?

Here's my take: If the M2 weighs 3300 lbs (1500 kg), with full fluids, half tank of gas, no driver, consider me satisfied.

My personal guess is that the M2 will weigh maximal 50kg less than the M235i and that would be good ... a good hint is to compare the old 135i Coupe and the 1M Coupe.

... "his" exactly words were, that they (BMW) try to get the M2 to ~1484kg.

I was at Nürburgring Driving Experience in October and my Instructor said 386PS aswell, so I'm really positive that this is the correct number.

Looks like the rocker moldings are finally integrated into the fenders and quarter panels

No, the red one did not have rocker panels that was a fit for the new fenders.

See my other comment above ^ I just didn't know if he had seen the red one at all, I wasn't comparing the details.
