Also because these cars are meant to serve diverse duty. Not every M car lives a life of constant track days on smooth pavement. They have to get over speed bumps and curbs and drive through rough patches that litter the real world. Even some tracks aren't worthy of really firm suspension. I remember teaching at St Jovite when the instructions included, "Turn in at the frost heave." Those that live in areas with perfect pavement or that drive solely on smooth roads and want a firm ride can optimize their cars with aftermarket suspensions with differing degrees of drop and firmness, but usually, if you consider the breadth of their realistic duty, BMW finds a pretty good compromise. I have a top allocation in SoCal for an M2 at my dealer. After seeing that residual value on the M2 after 3 years is worse than my 911 Turbo i'v decided to purchase something else.
If anyone wants it PM me... otherwise i'll just cancel the order. Congrats on your M2 OP!! look incredible! |

Ahhh...driver from Florida. Can you say, "Hakkapeliitta." M cars are fine in the snow as long as its not deep enough to clog the radiator. You just need to wear your snow boots, and you've got free skidpad time (Which is the best place to be once you get the hang of it).

Actually droning is a big problem with turbo engines so the M boys engineered a flap that closes when not at WOT.

Congrats. I would've personally waited for another 4 months, even though it's hard.
But I guess you will just buy another one then
