We all knew lower prices were coming after the crazy bubble prices. If these get a little lower I’ll be ready to make the switch from my Comp to a CS.

Now is the time to buy a CS. Everytime I drive mine I can't believe I bought it for $85k (MSRP). They are a steal right now.

As much as I originally wanted white, my gut when I bought the CS was to buy the color unique to the car (I obviously loved MB as well and my assumption on future value tipped the scales)…wonder if we’re starting to see dispersion in pricing based on spec…prob too early to make that call, but still an interesting datapoint. Also bet folks are realizing newer CS will be auto only…TBD

I do think values will rebound on that alone….considering of course, as you stated, the G87 CS will be Auto only. |

I think 6MTs will bring a slight premium. Maybe CCBs as well, which I don’t have but wish I did.
Manual 911s seems to command a premium over PDK. It’s seems even manual E9Xs go for larger figures than a DCT equivalent. I’m not knocking the DCT. I’ve owned 2 DCT cars and they are great. I just think the 6MT is a different experience relative to the new autos in M cars. |

timing worked out for seller. BaT is unpredictable. Same car a month ago would’ve not met Reserve or hit mid 70s tops. Glad to see it’s doing well.

Two months ago a car with the same mileage (DCT, CCB) sold for 89000. $93450 with fees, before taxes, not too shabby. I will continue to say it, mileage drives the price up. I try not to have mileage anxiety as I do not intend on selling, but it is always in the back of my mind. My buddy and I went to MPACT this year and we took his G80 M3 because it is a lease. He will be under mileage when he turns it in. Im at 2800 miles...

I get the practicality argument on the CCB’s, but I disagree with the assessment that it won’t impact future - I think it 100% will, maybe not by much but it will. If these brakes arent abused they will last last a VERY long time, so for a clean car with decent mileage, CCBs will def fetch a premium for several reasons.
I hear you on DCT being a great transmission and increasingly rare…but no matter how good a two pedal car is, I think manual will command a premium over DCT. It’s just a matter of supply/demand…people like me who just MUST have a manual won’t care how good the alternative is. I think the best comparison we have is the Lime Rock Park Edition M3 - more limited numbers, but similar level of “special” spec. That DCT transmission was legit designed around that engine for that car specifically, and allowed you to play that high revving V8 like a finely tuned instrument. It’s effing incredible…but the manuals still command a premium, albeit modest (10%ish)… Just my two cents - DCT and steels are all awesome on this car…but my gut on future value is largely driven by rarity (supply), and special options for the CS spec (CCB and color). |

My goal is to put as many miles on mine as possible, don’t care about future resale value as I’m focused on enjoying the ownership experience and keeping it for a long time

I deserve that sarcasm! He or she will be waiting a long time though. Perhaps my son will thank me when he inherits it...

Hear you on that and respect it! My point is more on options / spec that will be most desireable, given the topic of conversation of this thread being BaT auction values. I never buy or spec a car with future value being my primary goal…rather, I use it as one consideration amongst many. For example, I loved the CS in AW and MB, and had a choice between two very similar cars at the time…so the tire breaker was my gut on value/future desireability as I loved them both equally. If you prefer DCT, then drive a DCT…point wasn’t on which one is better or getting one over the other because of value…but rather pointing out some of the things that could be driving dispersion in auction pricing.
