What's a good street/track brake pad for this car?

I don't think there are any, the M2 and M2C are too heavy and too powerful for any streetpad to be durable enough for the track and track pads will be too noisy for the street. The closest is probably Feredo DS2500 as able to do some very light track work but otherwise you probably do need to resign yourself to noisy brakes on the street or swapping pads for all track days.
I go with swapping pads myself. |

I've runs a few different pads for street & track.
All of them will make some noise at runout (last 5MPH or so) They all throw tons of dust, but are ok when cold and will not eat rotors like many serious track pads. Carbotech XP12's/16's Raybestos ST43's Porterfield R4's Right now I'm on a set of FERODO DSUNO's up front and they have been ok on the street. My R4 pads up front were not the proper shape and rattled so I left the DSUNO's on for now. Wicked touchy though at tip in (high torque). I'm going to eventually flip over to DS3.12's (track only) when I run thru the DSUNO's

My rear pads are the R4's on the OEM brakes.
The front R4's did not fit properly so I left the DSUNO's that came with the ESSEX used kit on the car. I'll swap to my R4's up front for track days. When they wear out I'll be going to the DS3.12's .

Great question that I have no solid answer to.
When I ran my EVO X on the Carbo's I got ~30000 total miles out of the DBA 5000's. Lots of track days in tha ttime..

What was your favorite between these 3 out of curiosity ? I also plan to swap to ds3.12 some day. My used Essex kit came with DTC-70 all around.

Carbotechs....only thing that sucked with them was they really need to be bedded in and all previous pad material has to be removed via bedding. Awesome pads and very gentle on the rotors. I used shims on to cut down on the noise...

I’m a big fan of PFC myself. I did carcotechs on my Mustang for 5 years before. I just love that you can get great stopping power, no wheel vibration, and over 12 track days out of a set of PFC pads. And no fade.

PFC are great pads. BUT they eat rotors when cold.

Good thing my work is super close to where I live, and I just don't brake when cold
In all honesty though I've run both Carbotech and G-Lock flavors ranging from XP-8 to XP-12. Great, reliable stopping power, and easy on rotors. Good fade resistance when used properly. My biggest complaint was that wit XP10-s I'd get 5 or so days, and XP12s evaporated after 3. But they are not too expensive, so that helps. I'm pretty confident 1 set of PFCs will last me 3 years of attacking best tracks in Europe. If we're ever allowed to do track days again. When I'm back in the States I'll probably continue to use Carbotech/G-Lock, as I will inevitably end up in a heavy American V8. Perhaps even with a blower

I had no cooling setup on the 'Stang. Just swapped pads for track days, bedded them in, and went like hell. But yeah, they disappeared in a hurry.
My approach is similar with the M2. I swap pads before and after events since I can't tolerate the noise for too long. I get the PFCs in a week before my event, and swap them the week after. I've done 3 weeks with them in if I had consecutive weekend events. Still on factory rotors. Car has a bit over 22k miles on it now. And the PFCs look brand new.

I’m concerned about the OEM drilled rotors...really have no idea how long they’re going to last with aggressive pads. I May switch to porter fields because they’re supposedly really kind to rotors, though Hawks contingency program is better.

Unless your time trialing these should be adequate for all but the most hardcore track addicts.

Hah! I'd use Carbo XP16's for TT"s or try the new Ferodo Pad that ZM2 is raving about...

I've got Hawk DTC-60s to try right now, I got them for next to nothing through their contingency program. Will report back on how they do. If the Hawks eat/crack my rotors quickly, the cost benefit of the contingency program will deteriorate rapidly!
