Probably all the reviews that say the M2 is much more tossable/agile than the M4? Not really hard to figure out.
I see this all the time in my industry... People read reviews and compare specs and they think they know the product. Personally I think it's amazing how people profess to absolutely KNOW how M2 drives when they have yet to even sit in one while standing still.

It's really good news for the M2 if it's both more fun (subjective assessment) and ties the M4 "in every performance measure" (objective assessment) according to Motortrend.

(Some of you are too young to know what those are lol). Just for mention, the M6 is great too, but just too damn long. The spirit of an M vehicle, again IMO, has 2 doors. So that cuts out the M3/M5. Not to say they're not relevant for those wanting to transport their families whiles doing 120 on the interstate (lol).
All in all, the M4 is the one! It's the mistress! It's the beer at the end of a long day! It's mature enough to get into any 21 and over spot, while still young enough to see you on the track!!! This comparison really shows its beauty! When you guys are done being hype beasts about the newest M vehicle, and all the dust settles, you'll realize how much sexier she is. Salute to you: M4
I don't think you understand the spirit of M cars. It has nothing to do with doors.

The M2 has way more spirit of e30 e36 e46 m3s of yesteryear. Small nimble tossable chassis. That's the true spirit of these cars.

M4 is great but i will say again - the M2 is an e46 born again but now with the power of an e92.

To me, the M3 looks like the crate the M4 was shipped in.
M4 = Form (sleek coupe) over function.
M3 = Function (four doors + headroom) over form.
All the Bmw instructors at thermal club say the m3 performs better than the m4 making it even more function over form.

Let's be honest. The M2 size wise is between the E36/E46. The 2-series platform gives you much worse outward visibility vs either the E36 or E46. The E36 was nice but the M3 (US) was underpowered vs the Euro version.

If it's between e36/46 that's even better!

I'm not getting an M2 cuz it's less expensive. different strokes for different folks! I have an M3 with full leather SO and have driven the M235i extensively and yes, the M3 is more luxurious but now joyment of driving (i.e. small, nimble, tossable) is more important to me.
You sound so sure of yourself. Did you drive the M2 or are you extrapolating?
u said the "only" reason I'm getting an M2 is because it's less expensive or has better exhaust note. I'm telling ur WRONG! I can afford a more expensive car and modify any exhaust to my liking so ur reasoning is way off base. like I said: different strokes for different folks

Had a friendly run with an M4 yesterday - first time I had been able to see one from many different angles and in motion. Have to admit that it looks a lot better than in the pictures - and the grunt is very impressive.

That being said, and even though I hate LBB, I would take the smaller car.

Love the sexy shape of the M4 but the M2's bulldog stance is even better

Plus it gives you real utility - that's a great comparison IMO - F80 vs. F87. If you are to get an M4, I am not sure it gives you much (in the utility department) over the M2. The M3 is the same performance package, has a much more usable range in terms of carrying normal sized humans, and to my tastes, is better looking than any other M car available at the moment.

The question is whether it is 10K+ better. that's going to vary case by case..

Aaah, here we go:

For everyone's eye pleasure.
Used the same principle as 6series/6GC, so it's a bit longer that M2 Coupe.

I like both but the nod goes to the M2. If I'd go big, it would be the M6.

I agree, when I took the M3 and M4 for test drives, the M3 handled better.I also prefer the styling of the M3 compared to the M4.They are both still to big,the M2 is the perfect size.

This.

If you say the M6 is too big, why settle for the M4 and skip the smallest, most nimble M car in the lineup? If you want big luxury, go with the M6 with the added bonus of a sweet V8! Go sporty or go big lux and skip the middle man.
