This is great news. I already have more than half stashed away and a deposit at the dealer. Gonna keep those payments sub $500 a month. I'll take one in Mineral Grey, no options. When can I pick it up???

Winter tires on a RWD car is USELESS where I live. People get stuck all the time, and the only vehicles on the road are trucks, SUV, subarus/mistubishi, Audis and BMW xi. Different areas, different situations. I've seen a C63 fight for traction with winters, before he pulled over to the side and gave up. |

To be fair, a "good lease" over the past few years for a BMW has been in the $100 per $10k of MSRP range. Anyone expecting a "good lease" will have to wait, but right now lease vs buy is heavily favoring the buy situation.

Lease rates for the 1M were in the $750-880 range and it was $4-5k less. In other words , the lease rate , wasn't " fair " .. If BMW follows their recent history on the 1M as they have nearly all along with the M2 , I expect that buyers will find that if they want to lease, the M3/M4 will turn out to be far more attractive than the M2. For my 1M, I chose a long term loan and used the 1.9 financing from my credit union and my payment was MUCH lower than the lease options. This is going to be a low volume car. It's not going to be something that BMW has to (or will want to ) discount and put a cheap lease rate on, and they aren't trying to sell a million of then like they want to do with the 3/4/5 series and X models. |

In Portugal, the only thing that comes Standard with the M2 is the DCT. No manual. The base price is 68.200€ ($74,000 USD).

Can you tell from the codes what color the leather interiors are? I see the second choice is black with blue highlight. What is the standard leather, just black?
Also, do we know if the differential is a true LSD as opposed to the electronic LSD found in the M235? |

Over 36 month lease, fully loaded M2 with no discount off MSRP, you'll be looking at 30k in payments. In that same time period you would have paid 42k in financing. I know this car will hold its value better than a 235i but even so an M3 doesn't hold it that high. You would need 12k in positive equity. It's not that lease rates that are bad but the discount off MSRP. If you can find a dealer that will discount at least 5%, you should be able to get a great lease. But without the discount you'll be paying the same as an M3 with an MSRP of 70k. Quote:
I dont see how you could be MUCH lower than the lease rate. Even with 6k down, 1.9 APR and 72 months, you would at the same rate as the lease but with 6k down. So over 36 months you would have paid 6k more and I don't believe you would have any positive equity at that point. If the lease rates match the current 235i, lease will still be the best option if you plan on selling after 3 years. Especially with the reduced risk and less money upfront. Lease for lease, an M3 is the way to go if you want more value. Fiance vs lease on an M2, I would personally lease as I never keep a car more than 3 years. I also enjoy the lower payments and less risk along with more options at lease end. Can't stand selling a car privately. Even if the market for an M2 exploded, I would still have the option to buy at lease end and would have only paid about 1% more in interest.

Sorry if this is a duplicate...
In the US spec sheet posted (http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/att...6&d=1452561984) both front and rear wheels are listed as 19x9, as opposed to 19x10 for the rears as seen in euro spec sheets. 245 tires on the front and 265 on the rear for both specs. Typo or a spec change? |

Sounds like an odd thing to say about a 52k car, but I think it is the most reasonably priced BMW currently, or in years.
Or put it this way, I would much rather have a BMW M2 for $52k (pretty damn loaded not less) than a Mustang GT or Camaro SS for $45k. It might be down 60- 100 hp on paper but in reality the power/weight will be much closer. I wish they didn't use those ugly black wheels but that's an easy change.

No discount off MSRP. If you can match the discount you would get on a 235i, in theory it would lease the same.

Man I can live with that. My goal is to save close to $1000 for a nice downpayment to finance. All I need is NAV/iDrive really.

amazing pricing on the M2.
my fully loaded '13 135is with a 6 speed manual was over $50k new MSRP. So $51k for a very nicely equipped M2 is amazing value. |
