Thanks yall.

Nismo: PCD was incredible. Like other users have echoed on these forums, every employee/associate/instructor make you feel like you and your car are important to them. The entire process is so meaningful and thought out, and most importantly, fun! I think my wife enjoyed it just as much as I did. I had so much fun sharing this special day with her.

Kevin: I still can't get over how beautiful HS is in person. I'm so glad I went with the MP CF parts. I know it's a little more expensive to go port install, but I take comfort in knowing they are genuine BMW parts, and are included in the window sticker. Also, the first thing I did when I got home was replace the stock floor mats with my Coco mats— they look sooooooo good.

Thank you so much! I'm still in the "I can't believe this car is real" phase, but man, what a machine. I'm excited for you, mostly because I am thankful to now know what it feels like to own and drive an M2, and know that you will feel the same way I do when you take delivery of yours. It's an amazing vehicle, and worth every second you wait for it.

I'll post a review once I log some more miles, but this is the finest automobile I have ever driven.

Congrats buddy! Super happy for you! I just got dispatched from the factory.

Here's an even better sunset, from last year, well into the monsoon season, which is just now getting under way..

Congrats! I should be picking mine up there in August. Did you do any clear bra before the trip home? I got a long drive back to Colorado.

Thanks! You will not regret PCD, it is 100% worth the extra wait. I live up the road in Asheville, NC, so fortunately it was a quick trip home. I decided not to do any PPF on mine, but I am getting a ceramic coating applied by a local auto spa. I know from other users on this forum that Extreme Colors Auto Spa in Greenville comes highly recommended for PPF is you decide to do so. Congrats on the car! That's gonna be a fun trip home. There's some wonderful driving roads right out of the gate as you leave Greenville. Be sure to put some miles on it up here in the Appalachian and Smoky Mountains!

Lovely pics. Was the Z4M as bad as people say? Or did you like it? Obviously the engine is superb. Peak Bangle era in looks but personally I think it looks pretty good. Apparently really vague steering as the hydraulic retrofit was an afterthought as the electronic steering had to be removed to make space but it was never truly right, and apparently it rides like a shopping trolley. But can come alive once pushing it. True?

I don't know what people you've been listening to, but the steering is not really vague. It's better than the E92 M3 steering and better than every F8x car in my opinion, including F87. Maybe it's vague compared to a 987 Cayman S or something.

LOVE the Z4M. The only reason I sold it for the M2c was that it got hit in January, to the tune of $9500 in damage. Ordered my M2c while it was in the body shop, sold it immediately when it came out over 2 months later. It was my second - I bought one new in 2007 and kept it for 8 years. Missed it immediately when I let it go. Bought the one above in 2018 with only 34k miles, pristine shape. Really sad to lose that car - but the M2c is a worthy replacement.

"Really vague steering"?? Where the heck did you hear/read that? lol. The steering is FANTASTIC. Right before I sold it, I took one last BMWCCA local chapter run to the top of Mt Lemmon in Tucson, a twisty route up to 9000 ft that really made me appreciate the car all over again. And the steering is absolutely sublime. Light years better than the M2c steering IMHO, and I don't even think it's that bad.

Wait.. you mention electric PS. The Z4M had a hydraulic rack, only the non-M E85/E86 Z4's were electric. And that rack was indeed a turd. Yes, very stiff stock suspension, but totally streetable unless you have really bad local roads IMHO. The M2c by comparison feels much more "plush" and compliant, so that was an easy transition for me.

I'd love to own another someday, but prices have been heading upwards since around 2016, so it may never happen. Really fantastic car - think E46 M3, but 200 lbs lighter, smaller, shorter wheelbase. A great recipe for a great car.

As for the "as bad as people say?" question, I've NEVER heard anyone who actually owned one say anything but glowing comments about the car - other than the only real gripe you'd ever hear, about the stock suspension. But it's a purpose-built car, I don't know what some people were expecting.

Great write up and explanation. I also really like those cars and would someday like to have one in my garage. Question (as I’ve never been in one), how tight is it space wise? I’m about 6”2, 220lbs.

Thank you, not powder coated, the wheels were re-painted.

My front caliper has slightly discoloured due to track use, took about 4 trackdays before I could notice them changing

What paint or paint code if you don't mind me asking? This is perfect. Most refinishes are too dark for me.
