I'm also in the DMV area and would like someone to code my car. Let me know if you find someone!

Successfully coded myself this past weekend thanks to this thread here.

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=997749

Seems intimidating but if you follow those steps outlined it seems pretty idiot proof to me.

Thanks for the awesome information.

Slight learning curve, but lots of resources as well as much easier than coding E-series vehicles or other brand cars.

Good grief. Just get an iCar 2 and the BimmerCode app to do it with your iPad. So much easier.

E-sys is really easy and ENET is less than $20. I would have to buy adapter and an ipad to use that for more money and fewer options.

The app works on iPhone as well. Can you elaborate on the fewer options bit? What would you want to do using E-sys that BimmerCode can't?

I do not own any apple products. That includes ipods, ipads, iphones, and quicktime or itunes. According to website, only "1 Series F20/F21 · 2 Series F22/F23 · 3 Series F30/F31/F34 · 4 Series F32/F33" supported. Did not look further at what can be coded, but I code all F-/I-/G-series BMW's plus Mini & Rolls-Royce with E-sys. I do not own any of the supported models either.

Got it. I was wondering if there was a feature supported by E-sys that is not supported by the BimmerCode app. Sounds like they are at feature parity, and it really depends on which hardware you prefer to use.

Their website does not seem to list available options, but if it is anything like Carly, there would be options not capable of coding that E-sys can.

That's what I'm wondering. What can E-sys do that BimmerCode cannot? I'm new to this, but it looks like they are at feature parity. Everything that people are requesting in the forums can be handled by BimmerCode.

Also, BimmerCode can disable ASD. A lot of people on this forum seem unable to disable it unless they pull fuses or swap out harnesses.

BimmerCode may have more options than Carly or, as you stated, all the desired ones at least for F2x / F3x / F8x. E-sys can disable ASD.

Can someone from Europe please post their FA? I'd like to compare the setting from euro MDM to ours here in the US to get the correct answer on exactly what we should change to enable euro MDM on our cars.

Thanks!

Version of Esys to code M2 2017

I'm currently on 3.26 - once I get into the CAFD, I can't read the coding data - do I need to be on the latest 3.27 version? This is a 2017 with NBT EVO latest Idrive.

Thx in advance!!

Following your posts in the other thread. Thanks for the continued updates -- will do this as soon as they work out the mirror fold kinks
