No I didn't. Not much of any difference when in hand.

I bottomed out a couple of times. The first time, no visible cracks, just a small chip. The 2nd time, I did not see a decent dip entering a parking garage due to the lighting. The aftermath.....

Part number for the plastic cover that goes over the oil cooler is 51-75-8-079-566, which for some reason did not come up readily. It is interesting that this part applies to M2C and M2CS but then some members reported Turner's aluminum version for M2C does not fit M2CS.....

Ouch. These lips don't appear to do much flexing. They just snap in places when enough pressure is applied.

That's illustrates one of my may concerns with the lip. It fractured right where it bolts to the chassis (well, really extensions off the chassis). That's the only hard connection to the chassis whereas the rest of the screws go into "softer" mounting points on other bits. There's no flex at those hard point so it will snap instead of bending.

Good point, in fact, the metal bracket where the 2 big bolts go into was bent a bit, as well as the aluminum piece that the bracket mounts to. They both were easily bent back into shape, but I received new brackets when I bought the CF spoiler so replaced those as well. The bracket was ~$280 or so, IIRC which surprised me but I suppose they don't sell many of those.

Man that looks brutal. The sound of the crunch must have been unpleasant...

I do exactly this. Hate parking front in anywhere.
It's the smartest thing I ever learned from advanced driving school all those decades ago. Reverse in; you'll never have to look behind you when you get out of a park

jbse39 I'm really sorry to see your pride and joy mutilated like that

I had the hole in my lip repaired. FYI he said that it was beginning to delaminate on both sides. I don't think that was due to this damage. Folks may want to occasionally check theirs while under warranty. The section where the top folds over and is laminated to the bottom section.

I've not even got my CS yet and I'm seriously considering just removing the lip. It's a very cool looking thing but just utterly impractical given the cost of a genuine replacement. I'll just stick it in the garage, maybe get the racing one further down the line or try one of the UK carbon companies that make these things at a fraction of the official parts price. Does anyone else run their car without the splitter? It's not functional (unless I'm wrong) so I don't see any negative other than inferior looks…

I recall from one of the threads, you can get the M2CS Racing front splitter which is not CF

As long as you don't lower your car and take care on dips and potholes you'll be fine. I had far more problems with my lowered f80 (2 splitter replacements including the carbon fiber m performance splitter I installed). No issues with the F87 CS splitter as long as you take care. And frankly, the looks are half the point.

Yes, I believe the splitter is functional. It needs to be paired with the rear spoiler. If you lower car, then get the $750 CSR splitter. Mine was a fluke where I hit my driveway too quickly, but that's the type of mindset you have to carry with you. Always looking at entries and exits. The carbon one looks sooo nice though. That's why I havent switched. If you like to go over the curbs at HPDE events, then it could also be worthwhile to swap on the CSR lip. It's a very quick swap.

Ouch, that is a bit steep....I guess I was lucky that my PPF shop did it free of charge twice which I thought was very nice of him. I didn't realize it would cost that much for the front spoiler.
