Some people just don't want to (or cant) wait to find a buyer themselves. Yes, you get more money but you also have to spend your time weeding out tire kickers who are "interested" only to never be seen again.

There's also tax advantages to trading in, in many markets. In PA, you pay tax only on the difference. That said, mine is being picked up by vroom today, to your point. They didn't play 20 questions, kick the tires, or needle me over minute details. So much better than dealing with buyers, even if I gave up a couple grand. Worth it to my sanity.

Not sure how serious I am but all the time in the last year stuck working from home and the M2 not moving, often for weeks, has me thinking I don't need a third car. And just last week the BMW dealer down the street had an M2C spec'd similar to mine with more miles listed for $4k more than I paid new. I know that was the list price but damn! And it sold in a couple days. |

Putting it aside for G87. Only complaint so far is this damned pickup driver keeps changing the time. It was supposed to be 9am. Then noon. Then he called at 1130 and said an hour. It's 3 minutes past that lol. I don't know how these companies do it, they seem to contract any Joe to pick up. I don't care though, as soon as he touches it it's their problem.

I'm really curious who is buying used M2C second hand at almost full msrp. I love the M2C, but I can never imagine myself paying that much.
Conversely, I need to sell my M2C in the Fall. Hope the market will be ripe as it is now. But probably by then there will be market saturation with all of you guys selling your M2C. It's like a mass exodus of this car 🤣

If you can't get it new, there is no other option. This is what typically happens when a wanted car goes out of production and the G87 M2 won't be here for another 2 years. And of course the whole used car market being upside down.

Don't get me wrong, I still think the M2C is such a great car. But running out of garage space is a problem…

As soon as humanly possible, assuming reports about things like individual colors and such are true, I'm placing an order.

The market is bonkers right now. Out of curiosity I had mine appraised at vroom
2020, MT, Exec with 25000 miles: 57k!!! Seriously?! I've had it for just over 2 yrs and logged 25k, and would be selling it for about $4k less than msrp which is what I paid. I'm not even looking to sell. I wish there were new M2Cs left...I'd just flip mine for a new one in a heartbeat! |
