I'm wondering about the front license plate when you do ED. Do they drill the bumper in MUC for the euro plates? And then again in the US for the plates here?
They don't drill your bumper for the euro plates.

Munich delivery

If I were to do it again I would not go during the opening week.
I lived in Germany, 30 miles from Munich, in the early 80s. I attended Oktoberfest four years in a row and there is no way I would take delivery of a new car during that time. Traffic is crazy and as a previous poster said, hotels get outrageous prices for rooms. I've got an M2 ordered and hope to do Munich delivery in late April or early May 2017. My deposit was in in May 2016.

I don't know if you guys realize this but according to my research you can actually do European Delivery (5% off MSRP and an amazing experience) as well as Performance Center Delivery upon redelivery to the USA. The only thing I am unsure of is whether or not you get the $995 Destination Fee waived when you do both. I know if you just do PCD you save the $995. Either way this has to be the absolute best way to buy a new BMW!

I did both and no, you do not pay the $995 destination fee.

And yes, it is THE BEST way to buy a new BMW unless you are impatient and don't like European adventures.

I am not sure if the destination fee would be waived. I just did ED and waiting for PCD. Dealer mentioned that it is not waived and should pay $995. Any official link?

My bill of sale and window sticker show no evidence of a 995 shipping charge.

995 reasons to do PCD ... but it's euro delivery that's the bomb... and not because of the 5 percent.

I would do ED and PCD even if they didn't offer discounts but the discounts are the icing on the cake!

It is finally here.....put money down in January and picking up my new baby blue next week. I am so nervous, giddy, don't know what I feel. I put money down and 2 weeks ago, paid in full for a car I have NEVER seen, touched, smelled...you name it. Man, this car better be good! So leaving for Munich this Monday, get there on Tuesday and pick up on Friday. 3rd time at the Welt for me. 1st time I did the museum tour, 2nd time at the Welt I did the production line. Both times at the Welt I used to look down at the delivery center with envy. All those people picking up their new car and I thought....one day that will be me. Now 3rd time is a charm and I am picking up my own M2! I know, I know weather may be bad. But we usually go to Europe around Christmas time as I am from there and still have family there (Holland).

OK, so maybe it is a little bit to show off my new pride and joy to my family and friends in Holland..who cares! My biggest fear though is driving it over in Europe, I mean, I know i am going to be sooo nervous to even drive this car, let alone in Europe where parking simply sucks. But I guess that's what you got insurance for, right? This week I even went to a cell phone case shop where they make custom cases. So I had them make a 7+ M2 case, it came out really nice. I obviously told the sales person all about my upcoming adventure, he was really excited for me.

Anyway, I will post some pictures of my new baby who BTW will be called "Skyfall 2.0" My 335i convertible was Skyfall (personalized license plate), so my M2 will be Skyfall 2.0. Wish me luck!

Your anticipation is understandable. Get to the Welt early and hang out in the lounge. Grab a photo of the M2 as they bring it up the elevator and first drive it out. Enjoy!!!!
