So, I was out having a little fun tonight. I left the car in 4th & 5th and started at 2k rpm like a dyno run, just to see what the Sport Dials would say for torque: 485-ft lbs!
I know it's not a real dyno, but it's fun. So, 460hp & 485-ft lbs on the dials, not too shabby... I may do the downpipe in the next couple weeks and retry the Stg 2H 93 V2 map then. In the meantime, PTF said they would push out my Stg 2H 93 V1 map as an OTS map for you guys doing the Dinan turbo. Very cool of PTF! |

I chose the Dinan turbo bc it’s good bang for the buck and most all the larger turbos introduce lag or fueling issues on the N55. As for the Dinan tune, that’s what I started with and it’s great for what it is: conservative power with a warranty. I decided to try BM3 to squeeze a little more power out, bc I have an annual track battle with my Uncle that I’m prepping for (), but now I’m exposed on the engine warranty side. My Dinan tune is unlocked for Stages 1-4 and has the Dinan warranty, so if any of you guys want to try their tune, shoot me a PM and we’ll make a deal. Last edited by ZM2; 01-11-2019 at 09:47 PM.. |

From what I know about STFT, a reading of 1.0 is the car delivering the fuel per the 02 sensor reading. Anything more than that and it's adding more fuel. Less than that and it's taking it away. I believe it's a lagging indicator after it reads the AFR/Lambda, so not really useful unless the numbers are way off - I know I asked you to add it, but after seeing all the other inputs and that yours doesn't change much, you probably don't need it. If your HPFP wasn't able to keep up, I would expect the STFT to go over 1.1-1.2.
STFT is calculated when in closed loop/full throttle based upon mostly/only the readings from the o2 sensor (as opposed to LTFT which is used for open loop/partial throttle which is based upon multiple sensor and refers to a "map.") Since I am no expert at this stuff, here is more detailed information from a reliable source: https://www.autoserviceprofessional....t-work-for-you |

They said they would push it out this weekend as an OTS map.
So, you should be able to pick it as your one free OTS map if you池e just now buying BM3, or it should appear in your map options if you bought the OTS map pack previously. |

Modelled EGT is meaningless once you change up VE, or parts of the exhaust system. It only works effectively if you maintain the factory exhaust system including turbo.
It's a very sophisticated model and I have yet heard of anyone calibrating modelled EGT for a given modset with actual EGT sensors... nonetheless these tables aren't exposed in BM3 or MHD either.

Just wanted to follow up now that I’ve been driving on this for a month around town & on a few trips.
I’m loving the BM3 tune way more than the Dinantronics that came with the Dinan Turbo. The car is much smoother, a little faster, and being able to customize things like the burble is great. All of these little things add up enough to really make it seem like she’s a different, much more happy car. I still need to put on the 300cell DP and hit the track, but that’s coming... |

Hmmmmm. I've got the Dinan set-up, and it is indistinguishable to me in "smoothness" from stock. Something "much smoother" would be interesting to experience...

The PTF guys said they were going to make this map an OTS option, but I haven’t seen it pop up, yet. I’m sure if you asked them about it, they’d make it available to you. To me, the power delivery is stronger, more responsive, and smoother with BM3, plus the DCT shifts better. Another M2 guy I know with a custom dyno tune (not thru BM3) agreed after driving my car. Last time I suggested that to BMS, they told me they didn't have a tune for the Dinan turbo, but they would work on one. After a few weeks, they changed their tune, and said they wouldn't be working on one, because there wasn't enough of a market for it, and suggested I try an OTS stock tune on 91. We get 92 up here, and the whole thing seemed sort of half-assed for my set-up. So I bagged it. Plus, I have a 6MT, and it seems like most of the guys doing this are DCT dudes...

They did Stage 2H 93 V1 & V2 maps for me to try, and we stuck with V1. That’s the one they’re thinking of using as a Stage 2H 93 Dinan Turbo OTS map.
I would think 92 octane would be close enough for it to work, but I don’t know for sure. |

PTF working on Dinan "Big Turbo" hi boost map for me too
Here are a couple of logs PRIOR to hi boost map: E30 OTS Map using straight 93 + Lucas Off Road Booster (lots of MMT) http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5c5e46d1c090c630a1748c8e Race Gas Map using same fuel as above: http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5c5dd896ae729b5ac2553b17 Notice the difference in STFT between tunes and according to MAF lb/min, should be now making over 400 at wheels |

That said, I only run booster or 100 octane race gas at the track and I’m already battling high IATs on hot summer 30-45min sessions. So, I doubt those maps would work for my purposes. |

Plugs will last a lot longer than you think if you clean them. I pull and check them every 5000 miles or so and simply get the electrode end red hot with a torch and they then work like new again.
At 47K miles, I started getting a lot of break up and an injector code so I pulled all 6 injectors (extremely easy) and soaked the tips (end with microscopic holes for fuel spray) in CRC carbon remover for 30 minutes or so, reinstalled and filled each injector with CRC carbon remover before reattaching fuel lines to clean out any crud internally above tips and she runs better than ever. Injectors and Spark Plugs can be cleaned, no need to buy new ones whenever you think they need changing |

BM2 Stg 2 93 5.7
Alright, here are some 5.7 logs. My 5.5 Stg 2H map pulls harder up top, but I like 5.7s midrange. Reminder on mods: BM3, stock downpipe, Dinan IC.
The major difference b/n these logs and my 5.5 2H logs is ambient temp. It was quite a bit warmer this time (altho, still not hot), and it felt like the heat was getting to the car. I wasn't even able to get up into 4th gear as far as I wanted on the road and was feeling the heat, so I def need to get that 300-cell DP on soon. Stg 2 93 5.7 logs http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5c8c421dae729b3511ea8fd1 Stg 2H 93 5.5 logs http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5c2c9014ae729b51747a4b72 Any feedback is appreciated! |
