Eh, those shots are too close. Its the same Wing used on the M2 Safety Car and it cleans up the rear a lot. Also the shots are further back and the stock lip spoiler removed.

Meanwhile, over on the Nurburgring Nordschleife, the VW Golf GTI Clubsport S just did a 7:49.21.

That's faster than the base M4 (no GTS wing).
And the GTI is equipped with a 6MT.

Not quite, that's on pilot sport cup 2s. Put the M2 on those tires and it's easily faster. Those tires are worth 2-3 seconds over Michelin PSS on a 1:45 minute track like Mid Ohio. Extrapolate that difference around a 8min track like the ring and there you go.

Funny how many positive comments are elicited by a lip spoiler with a strip of paint on it - talk about non functional crap aka rice. But no, add a wing that BMW sweated over in the aero tunnel and all of a sudden that's in bad taste.

This from people who know the Ring times to the hundredths of a second, yet have never driven on a racetrack in their life.

I hate how short the stands are on bmw wings, need to be 200-300mm high. Be a man if your going to rock wing, tall and proud.

BMW runs those wings through a windtunnel so looks have nothing to do with the final equation.
