According to the recent articles, even the next 911 turbo S gained 100 pounds and is over 3,700 pounds. That car's base price is about double in price to the M2 CS. The CS is not perfect but pretty good for what it is (more advanced M2). The 911 GT3 is lighter, but what I heard is that you have to be an elite Porsche customer at a dealer to be offered an allocation for a GT3.

But surely I wouldn't consider it a track weapon. I'm sure you can have some fun but if you're serious about Hanging Ten around an apex, it certainly wouldn't be my first choice for such duties. |

Weight/seats is rather an arbitrary measure to determine if something is a track car/weapon or not. So the 4100 lbs and back seats of a Camaro ZL1 means it is not track capable then? Miata must be the answer then as it always is to all questions . Less seats and weight!

Wasn't trying to take anything away from the M2 or CS but I've seen enough YouTube videos and noticed how much over-correcting needs to be done to keep it strait, on a track. It doesn't seem like a good candidate for such activities. Of course that's just my opinion. |

Side note... the 718 GT4 weights 3,199 lbs to an M2 comp 3,417. An M2 CS with CCB's and the most optimistic of various rumors could put at around ~3,350lbs. That's not THAT big of a weight difference. CG is fairly different though which isn't insignificant.

Indeed, and that's rated, not to mention BMW tends to dyno rather high with Porsche more to rated. I test drove the GT4 and M2 within a few weeks of each other and liked the M2 a lot more. Familiarity may have been a part of it, and it wasn't on track, but I'm pretty darn comfortable spending the same amount of money and choosing the CS for my needs which will include quite a bit of track time. Something I've been doing in various forms for 17 years at this point.

WoW, that car is scorching hot!
The hood looks so bulbous and mean. Misano blue let's you know it's not a run-of-the-mill M2 but something special. It's truly a nice package.. And a manual to round it off.. But I guess in the grand scheme of things, you can throw 25k at a Competition and be just as contented. |

I forget how nice my current interior is until I watch these videos. Not a big deal, but damn.
I'm guessing these show cars are paint corrected? I plan to have the dealership leave all the shipping plastic on and have my detailer remove it before he gets to work. |

Edit: perfect from factory would be nice. Less money on paint correction. I'm just doing a ceramic coating. Maybe some ppf on the front splitter, air intakes, etc. I left the ppf on the jag in those areas and has been great for bug removal. Very few stone dings, and nothing severe. The windshield is a different story. Big stone chips, little stone chips, it's crazy. Going with Cquartz some that is what detailer has been using for a long time and still maintains education on products. Plus I'm confident in his work. Current car was paint correct only. No ceramic or ppf and depth is fantastic. Last edited by medphysdave; 01-25-2020 at 09:27 AM.. |

Not sure if angle of photo but it just looks odd? It's no Cayman GT4 rival on looks will be interesting to see how it goes on track. I pulled my deposit and so far I am not unhappy with decision

Car is a real looker. Last nice car from the brand. Everything else looks bloated imo, overdesigned or the proportions are way off. It‘s sad because I‘m an enthusiast and loved the brand .
