Andrew was on the money, the distance of travel for the F82 mirror is just shorter, hence the perception that it's "faster." The crown jewel of the F82 side mirror is the cool LED turn signal strips, other than that, the difference is merely cosmetic and not really form-function IMO. Any rebuttals are welcome.. |

It certainly isn't. It's all one piece.
I finally got mine and they looks awesome. Can't wait to get my caps back painted, so I can install them. I have to give it to AutoID, they did a good job. When I compare these to them, it's pretty close. The OEM mirrors are just more sleeker and, of course the LED turn signal is integrated & laser etched, as you guys have said. |

Installed my M mirrors. They're definitely worth it. I have the Euro wide-angle glass on the way.

One thing about the M mirrors is, they definitely don't fold as far as the regular ones. I tested it out after I installed one side, and compared them. It's not a big deal, because it's only a few inches difference and still serves the purpose, while looking cool, finishing the fold cycle fast. I coded them to fold/unfold when I lock/unlock the car, like shown in the video Poochie posted.
I guess they had their reasons, but it's strange that BMW didn't include these mirrors from the beginning on the M2, since they just bolt up, and are plug & play. |

A slightly better picture of the mirrors installed on my M2. Not the greatest picture as it's on my stupid hill of a driveway, and it was raining.

Quick question for the guys that have done this install. Is there a way to differentiate the two connectors going into the back of the mirror glass? I'd rather get everything plugged in correctly the first time so I don't have to tear this all apart later. It's the two black plugs in the picture below. Thanks in advance!

Thanks to the guys on here for providing the info on these got mine fitted over the weekend. So much nicer going the OEM route!
Just a few points to add, easily done without out removing the door card, just removed the tweeter cover and pried the door car using plastic trim tools. This was enough to guide the tweeter out and access the 3 mirror bolts. Also I did require a bit of coding for proper functionality, now maybe it's cause mine a UK car? But I noticed the driver mirror was dimming excessively at night to the point that it was hard to see anything at all, so reduce the werte from 20 to 5 this worked perfectly. Then the passenger mirror when tilting in reverse it was going too far, so reduced tilt angle from 70% to 50% this did the trick. Overall though really impressed, feel like they complete the exterior and should of always been on the car. |

Does anybody have a side by side or comparison picture of the OEM M2C mirrors on an OG M2 contrasted with the AutoID/IND three piece solution?
Edit: Never mind. Found this great yootoob vid. . Answers my questions. 3 piece kit being delivered today.
