So I ended up moving my late April and early May track days to late July and August. No hassle since I already paid for them anyway. Let's hope that by then things are ok'ish.

Who needs the track when the streets are so empty....
jk. Seriously though, I know this isn't an "essential" business but there's plenty of businesses that do not have to shut down because they have social distancing almost bedded in or easily bedded in like golfing, tennis, etc. They can have the track chats outside, with social distancing, and after that if you are within 6 feet of me, there is most likely a problem. A BIG problem! |

So in my area, we just loosened up the restrictions for hpde’s and we managed to do the whole weekend with heightened precautions such as face masks need to be worn at all times, washing hands regularly, communication between instructors and students were through Bluetooth headsets, classes were spread apart 6 ft and no outside spectators or visitors. We also had our temperatures read every morning to make sure. Overall, it was different but I guess we’ll find out in a couple weeks if the precautions was enough for lives to go back to a somewhat normal manner.

In lieu of track days, I added a toy to the arsenal. No complaints anymore.

Things are starting to get closer to normal where I live. There is HPDE in two weeks but it has been modified - instructions over radio, no riding along, no spectators, no lunch.
They only lowered the price by $15 for missing the lunch. I don't think I'm gonna do it because I feel like I would be getting much lower value. I think I will wait until I can get the full experience. |

HDPEs & member track days have started up again here for the most part with the exception of COTA which last week had Edge Addicts HDPE for this weekend cancelled. Which seems strange since there was a toy drive & parade laps there this past weekend.
Racing & such still hasn't really come back yet around here - guess maybe cause they are scared of the 6' rule BMW CCA Club racing postponed their June race at COTA to October. Was hoping to get racing again there in June but the move is probably for the better (likely much better). WRL is trying to keep their 14hr race going at Daytona in June. Planning on running in it now but not holding my breath it happens. At this point I'm not expecting to get much racing in this year in my M3. It's actually torn down again as we are making a couple of changes. Was able to get my M2 back out on the track a couple of weeks ago - really enjoyed that. Bounced to it from an Audi RS3 LMS I ran that morning which made for an interesting transition. FWD factory race car - paddle shift & full time left foot braking - to a RWD 6spd that I haven't tracked in 6 months |

Washington State Governor’s office just released a policy update that includes participant only Motorsport as an allowed form of outdoor recreation. Looks like I’ll be back on track soon!
https://www.governor.wa.gov/sites/de...ce=govdelivery Good to start seeing things open up again. Still a long way to go, but a track day here and there will sure make the time in between easier while we’re still otherwise sheltering in our homes. |

Tracks are starting to open back up in and around NC. I've been track prepping my NA Miata for AutoX, whenever that opens back up. |

Ahhh the ole triple, very very nice. I've contemplated getting rid of my Duc for a MV Dragster RR. More power is always better.

The local BMW CCA chapter here in Toronto has our first track day of the year June 5-7th, so they're slowly starting to open up. But it is being run without instructors so only advanced & solo drivers. I'm really looking forward to it, now I just have to get the car ready. Our chapter also has 2 road-trip HPDEs, one in July up near Ottawa which I suppose could probably happen although I have some doubts about whether our September event at PittRace will happen, I suppose it largely depends on whether the border is reopened.

Ok I will be venting from different perspective 😅 Our local circuit SlovakiaRing is open to public every damn Sunday and I cant resist. They cancelled all the WTCC and FIA races including GP500. Already went 5x in 5 weeks.
Pads gone, tires gone.. Its becoming expensive 😂 thanks for the cheap fuel nowadays at least 👍 |
