I dunno about that. Once that M car goes out of warranty, good luck, especially if you have DCT.

M2 - Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires

Camaro 1LE - Goodyear Eagle F1

Not sure what your point is.

Seriously though - I'm teasing, that's what us Brits do - there are stereotypes for a reason right? Are you really trying to say all American Muscle cars go round bends & are not just about straight line power?

If all I was interested in was 1/4 drag, then sure, I'd have a big American V8 with it more torque than HP all day long. However if I wanted it for anything else it would have to be a European or Jap car.

But that's just my opinion and they are like arseholes = everyones got one and they stink
Stereotypes are often earned honestly and legitimately; and they're usually funny.

But just so you know, this new Camaro takes handling VERY seriously (Cadillac's Alpha chassis), and by nearly every measure, is better than most, if not all BMW offerings - at a fraction of the price.

The Camaro doesn't beat the f8x though, that's all I care about.

Aside from the Camaro costing about half the price of a decently optioned F8x and being just as fast on the track as a GTS which costs three times more.... Yeah if that's what your saying, then shit, that's a victory!

Well my 1M has cost me 420$ in maintenance and repairs over the last 5 years and a half/ 22000kms. Then factor the depreciation of the camaro, fuel cost, maintenance cost(GM don't come with free maintenance). The M2 seem to follow 1M trend and don't depreciate at all.

It's interesting that all variants of the camaro are slower on big tracks. Even the notorious z/28 and brand new zl1. Price comes from materials and exclusivity. A civic can out drag a huracan.: wonder how those guys justify 300k vs a 10k car with a 5k turbo

No hate, just facts.

Pss last longer. GM seem to put very sticky tires on their performance cars for good lap time on the other hand they don't care about the cost of changing them over and over again. A M2 with sport cup 2 tires would gain few second a lap for sure. But then it would cost you a fortune to daily the car.

I wonder how many Camaro fanboys who are singing its praises are actually in the market for one now or are seriously considering it as their next car.

Camaro SS 1LE is amazing, but lets put it this way again, if you are BMW m series shopper , you will NEVER consider a Camaro.

Here's one. Well GT350 really, but not a BMW is the point. Can't support ASD with my wallet, among the other reasons

Oh really? Lightning Lap 2016 results. Does VIR have bends?

M2 3:01.9 As-Tested $54,495
M4 GTS 2:52.9 As-Tested $134,200
Camaro SS 1LE 2:54.8 As-Tested $45,700
Camaro V6 1LE 3:04.0 As-Tested $43,185

cheaper to own? Dude, Chevy small block LS v8s are the all known bullet proof motors pretty much. The abuse I've seen these cars take is incredible and the maintenance is a joke (aside from gas and tires, Ill give you that). But overall, cost of ownership will be significantly less with American. Don't get me wrong I love my little 2 series for what is but I get wrecked on tracks by the new American v8s. If I had the space for one, I would probably own one!

With these results, you'd get the M2 not necessarily because of outright performance but because of how the car brings joy to you.

0-60 on the Camaro was 5 seconds?

Did that happen to be at 50% throttle?

You've had good luck, I hope it continues! As for depreciation of the M2, without a crystal ball it's hard to say, but it seems like guys are having a very hard time moving used M2s on the boards when they ask for anywhere near purchase price. Just my observation.

There is a very short list of new cars that are less expensive, but have better performance on the track.

I plan on doing a European delivery next year. I'm still torn between an M2 and an M240i.

M2 isn't seeing the Camaro in any category these days. Would take this Camaro, or an ATSV coupe/sedan over m2/3/4 right about now. American car companies are stepping their shit up.

You'd have to take classy out of your handle if you go American muscle next
