How do I go about checking it?

Some members mentioned mass emailing dealers. Is there an easy way of doing so?

The way I did it was by just going on BMW's website, finding all of my local dealers and then contacting them all individually. I'm assuming that "Bay Area" means San Francisco, I've read a lot about dealers around there having cars but wanting really high premiums on them. I would suggest looking in a few of the threads on here about which dealers have not been charging premiums and which have. May want to call around to dealers that are in smaller towns.

Thank you. Dang, That sounds like a ton of work. Lol
I'm going on Edmunds, enter in different zip codes and email a few dealers at a time and see.

Btw, for you guys that bought out of state, was the transportation included in your purchase price or did you pay extra? I ask because that's something to factor in for the overall cost.
Bought mine from north carolina and had to pay for transport. Dont remember exact amount but think it was under a grand for enclosed transportation, which is want you want. I was lucky in the car had just been released and I dont think the dealer knew what they had on their hands. They posted the allocation on this forum for msrp and I commited within an hour. The biggest pain was all the dmv beuracracy for california and i had to smog a new vehicle even though bmw certified it as a 50 state vehicle...

Nice. I remember the first month or two people were giving up allocations like crazy. You have the contact info of the CA you dealt with?

I can't search threads on my phone. Go to the 2-series section and look for owners map or something similar. There's a long thread.
