Yeah I used the Icedriver kit from aliexpress. If you’re after you own single color, why not just take the OEM boards out and replace the leds with whatever color you want? Anyone with basic soldering skills should be able to do it easily.

I have seen a few people install these now and I don't understand why people don't connect them through the wiring harness so you still have all the functionality of the original ones? yes I agree connecting to the fuse box is far easier but it's not a massive job anyway?

It’s only for the RGB ones where people connect them to a separate 12V source. Single colored boards connect and operate like OEM. As far as why that is, I believe it’s because the RGB requires a separate controller module to function. This module probably wouldn’t function correctly if it wasn’t always receiving full 12V power (for example, when you turn your turn signal on and the OEM halos get dimmer). That’s just my thought process on it though - I personally didn’t want to splice into the OEM wiring to try and find out if it would work
