I'm running the Federals right now, mostly because they were cheap and I could care less about chasing lap times until I can out perform my tires. They work well for me, I have yet to hit any traction issues. Keep in mind, I'm at about a novice/intermediate level right now. Someone whose an expert level may hit the limits a lot sooner than I would. |

My experience is that Hoosiers will cycle out pretty quick. And I do like to drive on r comps to the shorter distance tracks. I would not feel safe at all if a thunderstorm popped up.

I am running the AD08 as my street tire...I will leave it on if I get to the track and it’s wet. Very good tire for overall handling. Granted it’s not as good as an Rcomp but still has enough grip to have fun....plus it’s very durable.

fair enough. Buddy of mine drove on his hoo-hoos to work and of course it rained. He had to wait around a bit. Haha

Long overdue for a NT01 refresh. A faster version of the current NT01 with the same durability and wear characteristics really would not suck.

I'm going to be running either 275/35/18 sq BFG R1's or 285/30's.
The R1's are just about the perfect blend of grip (thru their entire life) slip angles, feedback and price. I'm also curious to get some feedback on the Goodyear Eagle 1 3R's

However, I really could do with some more rear grip... which is why I will probably head back to a staggered setup soon. Also why I’m very interested to see how ZM2’s 9.5/10.5 testing goes |

265/305 was too much understeer balance, so 265/295 A052 & 275/305/18 NT01 should be fun. I still need to spec which size Pirelli & Michelin take off slicks I’d run. |

I haven’t done my homework yet to find which rear Pirelli or Michelin slick I’d run that’s similar to a 295 or 305 rear. |

received the Yokohama ad08rs for my 18' 513m wheels today in the following sizes:
245/40R18 & 265/40R18 I choose those dimensions because they were as close as possible to stock size I put them on a scale because I wanted to see if I can cut off some weight with the 18' but it looks like I wont cut of a lot of weight because the tires appear to be more heavy than the 19'. Probably because the sidewall is bigger with 40 instead of 35! The front tire is about 12kg(26,5lbs) and the rear is about 13kg(28,7lbs) when I add the factory data on the m513 rims in front 8,9kg (19,6lbs) and rear 9,4kg (20,7lbs) the weight should be close to: F:20,9kg (46lbs) R:22,4kg (49,4lbs) weight of stock 19's (437m with tires) according to another forum post: F: 20,8kg (45,9lbs) R: 22,6kg (49,8lbs) The weight of the stock 19' seems to be almost identical but I will put them on a scale as well, was expecting to save some weight but it seems to be almost the same!? whats your opinion on this topic? because in a lot of threads they compare the weight of 19' & 18' rims but if the tire is more heavy on the 18's at least the "weight saving" aspect of going to 18's is more or less irrelevant (messed up with the pictures sorry, can't change it anymore) |
