I said the same after my F90 M5 and yet here I am.

Of course the M2 is small which is really the key to the whole thing. I saw a new 2 series the other day and it does look big.

I think your average 2 series buyer is very different from an M2 owner. I suspect 2 series buyers appreciate bigger, more luxurious looking cars at an affordable price point whereas m2 buyers want a smaller car without frills. I know I do.

Maybe BMW makes another 1 series M one day. Stranger things have happened.

I agree. As cars get bigger, there is always opportunity for "smaller" cars. Hence the bulking up of cars and the introduction of smaller series to fill the void

This is my 9th M car and I'm just not liking the direction BMW is going. They would need to significantly alter course around base design philosophy, driver interaction, weight management, few other things before I can justify a g8x or newer. The G8x M2 looks ok and if I can option not a touch slab and a manual then...maybe..juuuust maybe that'll be it.

I love the small size of the M2C.

My M2 constantly reminds me that there are things more important to me than money

Oh yeah. While recently shopping for another BMW to replace my F10, every dealer made me sick, unsolicited, offers on my M2. One even asked what it would take, and I told him my M2C will never be for sale!

The Emira is beautiful and the GT4 is glorious on the track. However, neither will transfer the torque in every day driving like a lightly tuned M2C. It just depends on what you are looking for.
