Yes, it would be .4" wider at the front than stock. I took a chance and purchased a basically new OEM M3/M4 set from a forum member who sold his car. Haven't done a fitment test yet, but crossing my fingers that it should fit fine.

I did the same. I suppose we'll find out together whether or not the M3/M4 solution works on our M2s!

Hey M2 Owners, we have organized a group buy for a winter package on the M3/4 subforum with apex wheels and several tire choices. The wheels on our cars are identical and the tires are only slightly narrower by 10mm in the M2. There are several tire sizes available for the group buy and I think some of those would work for you guys as well. The TPMS in our cars are identical too(same part number).
We have secured a pretty good discount i believe with the group buy. Here is the link to the thread. I have listed the group buy website in first post and you can see all the selections/options there. If you have any questions regarding fitment, you can reach out directly to the vendor too(their info is listed on the group buy website).

alpins

Today I ordered the Michelin Pilot Alpin4's. 2x235/40/18 and 2x255/35/18.
The new Alpin5's are only available in the most current and smaller sizes.

Hi Pol,

I saw your pics of the 640M's painted black...they look great. Have you got any pics of the wheels/tyres on your car yet?

regards,

Nick

FYI

Called the dealer today and was told that the rears only come in 255.

I don't think that is correct, however since RealOEM is wrong, and there is no way to notify them of that, I'm stuck.

I suppose 255 rears aren't the worst thing...

Hi,

I have the 640M with Michelin PA added to my order as I will take delivery in the middle of winter.
I got the 235 square set up. The article nr for the wheels are however different between fron and rear axle, indicating different wheel offset and width I suppose.

Not yet Nick. Next week tyres will be mounted. After this they must be treated with a quartz coating.
I expect the first pictures on the car end October, depending on temperatures and weather conditions here.
As soon as possible I'll try to take some pics of the car with the wheels in front of the 437M's.

Thanks Pol...will look forward to seeing them.

How do you think these wheels would look on an M2 as a winter set up?

They look perfect and I think they should match well on the M2.
But personally as a detailer freak, I prefer something easier to maintain.

There are two sets.

#1
235/40 R18 95V 8.5Jx18 ET27
255/35 R18 94V 9Jx18 ET29

#2
235/40R18 95V 8.5Jx18 ET27

Only with #2 set snow chains can be used.

M3 uses the same 18" wheels as #1 - but tires are 4x 255/40 R18. Cars with CCB have 19" 641M wheels.

Unfortunately, the dealers here in the Midwest only seem able to find the staggered.

640M's are painted in Satin Black and Michelin are mounted. Waiting for a Quartz Coating before mounting on the car.

^Wow does that look good!

Also as reference the apex wheel setup are flow formed and very light so shouldn't sacrifice any feel etc. with the handling. They recommend the square setup of 18x9 +31 at all four corners with 245/40/18 rubber. I think it's the best option.

Disadvantage of the 640M's, they are must heavier than the 437M's or the Apex.

Apex : 18x9 - 21,25 lbs (9,63kg)
BMW 437M : 19x9 - 22,04 lbs (10kg)
19x10 - 23,58 lbs (10,70kg)
BMW 640M : 18x8,5 - 24,84 lbs (11,270kg)
18x9 - 26,23 lbs (11,900kg)

The painting of my 640M's was a relative expensive alternative. Set + painting was about $3,305 tax incl.
