Right, I get what you mean now. Manufacturers all have their own unique way of measuring the width of the contact patch, so its an apple to oranges comparison when seeing two tires with the same size identification from different manufacturers e.g. 285/35R19.

This link explained much more clearly why theres a variation in TW and why Tire Rack is quotable:

Thanks for the tidbit of information anyhow, never really looked into that much detail before.

Yeah, TW is one a lot of guys overlook, along with weight, they just think bigger must be better, and that's not always the case. This car has such a fantastic balance from the factory as well, it's pretty easy to mess that up. BMW know what they're doing with the ride height, rake, wheel size/weight and tire size + suspension, I think more than people give them credit for.

I have my winters on those now, so I'll get some more pics in a few months!

I posted more (one is a duplicate) midway through & toward the end of this thread. See posts 28, 30, 35 and 51:

They are a bit scuffed up from the previous owner. Would like to get them fixed, but I drive on a lot of gravel roads, so it may not be worth it.

They look great. But to me, the Ferric 437's look better on every color vs the black.

Every time I see Ferric Gray 437s on an M2 (which I prefer over black), I'm reminded of these refinished silver 437s, which really I love (or maybe it's the combination with the matte wrap):

Those look awesome regardless of wrap/paint on the car.

I prefer the stock Ferric 437 finish to those (just because I like the highlights), but that matte LBB wrap has me catching my breath. Sooooo damn sweet.

Man, finding an unmarked set and original set of ferric greys in AU is proving difficult ...

Oh my....
Wish I bought the ferric grey ones for my M2C..
Not a fan of black wheels myself, but the ferric ones were much harder to find in like-new condition.

Tell me about it. I got lucky. I may actually sell them in the near future, but it'll be hard to let them go because the condition is so nice, and ceramic coated as well.
