"Production started" is a head-scratcher of a description of that stage, because your car sits in this status for about 2 weeks before it actually gets built, which happens in a day. And that's if there are no delays.

Don’t think F87 will get delays as we are entering last month of the production and it’s in their best interest to clear the production space for the next thing.
You’d think they are stocked up for the remaining allocations Americas only) |

There was a big chip shortage not too long ago that affected a few manufacturers, which may have caused the delays in production. It's what this thread was started about... Also I don't see those 3 digit codes anywhere on the site and I haven't seen the BMW Genius support mention any of that. Where do people get these from now? The CA? Mine is worthless.

I am hoping that since the global production of the F87 finished December 2020 and all that is left is Americas allocations to fulfill ending June 2021, that BMW has stocked up on those components to wrap up the F87 production and make room for what is next to come to Leipzig. |

Interestingly, my estimated completion date has slipped from May 20th to May 26th.
As long as that is the only slip it doesn't matter, as June 3rd or June 8th were the 2 next shipping dates anyways. So if it sits at beginning production now, instead of at the port later, it should still mean I'll get it first half of July. |

No per the sched in the PDF linked above there's 1 tomorrow and then one of the 21st.
My initial estimated completion date of the 20th was never going to get to the port in 24hrs, so I'd hoped/assumed one of either the 3rd or 8th would be what my car gets on. |

Two weeks now in "quality check." My CA says that the M cars get some extra attention in quality check. He's guessing it'll be heading to the port in the next few days.
Right. |

I called the Genius today. I ordered my LBB manual M2C on April 14th, got a production number immediately and it flipped to scheduled for production by late April. The Genius just told me that the car production will now be mid June, so there is some kind of delay. My dealer originally said the car would be finished in week 20 which is next week.

Sounds familiar. In my case, I ordered April 2, got a production number immediately, and it was scheduled for production by April 29. That happened, but then it went into "quality check" on April 30, which is where it remains today.
Agree there are issues. I don't know why BMW thinks it is better to be murky rather than transparent about these things. Just tell us, so we can plan on the basis of facts. |
