Mperformance setup
I run 4 click open compression front and 5 rear, 8 click open rebound front and 10 rear.
BMW recommended height. 10 mm spacers (Turner with intergrated hub extender) front and 5mm rear. A bit stiffer than BMW setup, but better on track and acceptable on open road. |

I'm about to have the M Performance Coilovers installed and would love to hear what kind of configurations people are using if they've modified the default settings.

Why broader front (10mm) than rear (5mm) ? |

I have just ordered 15mm front because I have Ground Control camber plates now and -3°30' camber, and plan to install AP racing 9668 campers. Just terrific on track together with stiffer H&R sway bars. |

FWIW - UK spec MP coilovers don't have the rear spacer collar - got mine fitted yesterday.
Rear is not at it lowest setting - below comparison between mine [AW] and stock [BSM] FWIW - 1st impressions of MP coilovers are very good. Car will no doubt settle after a few hundred miles. If ride height needs tweaking, I can then either adjust and or retrofit OEM M4GTS C-clip spacers - BMW do them in 2 thicknesses 7mm and 15mm BP

Whats supposed to happen to the original gaiters/belows over damper rods - instructions show these being cut but is the top piece re-used and the rest disgarded, may be because the "bellows" won't fit inside the MP front coils ??

My MP Coils settled rather low after 1,200 miles so I had to raise the front a little at the weekend. |

Thanks for the reply: They look thinner than the adjustment collar when fitted - how do they compare to the ones on the front?
I'm asking as the picture of the front set up looks quite low. |

They appear to be the same. The front ones I didn’t remove as I would have had to remove the struts and springs to get them off. I lowered them as low as they would go, and then adjusted the perches.

Resurrecting an old thread. Could anyone comment on the ride quality compared to stock suspension? Do the front progressive springs assist with handling rough roads better than stock?

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1590553 Note that the results he posts for the dampers are taken from full soft rather than full hard so you'll have to do some arithmetic to directly compare them with BMWs settings. |
