Damn! If the price increase is just 1.2% over the M2, the M2C will cannibalize M4 sales (M3 guys will likely still buy a M3 for the 4 doors) and will put a glut of used and almost brand new M2s back on the market.

Evo is a small-circulation magazine, but I would think somebody here is a subscriber. It seems a little early for it to hit the mail, but it’s possible that someone at the printing plant or in the distribution system saw it. I can’t imagine the magazine would break the embargo, since BMW could cut them off from future news scoops and test cars - plus there's nothing on the website. I’m calling BS until I see the actual pages.

It’ll be interesting to see how the G8x differentiates itself from the S55 motor based cars. When it comes to ///M cars, I feel it’s the engine that really brings differentiating character between generations. In the NA era it used to be big jumps - S52 -> S54 -> S65 -> S55. While the S55 is awesome, it’s an in-line 6 turbo with good power and easy tunability (just a flash nets you a lot more). If the G8x is also an inline-6 turbo (likely), it’ll be interesting to see how BMW ups the ante.

I wonder how much these optional brakes would cost and how they compare to say AP Racing offerings. |
