It looks like a huge pelican did his business on the hood beside that nice red bow!

I'm on a little getaway in the LA area, an hour away from where my car is currently sitting, probably getting shit on by seagulls and just collecting dust waiting on BMW to replace those airbags. Sucks I didn't take delivery where I live, 500 miles away, 3 weeks ago when I was supposed to.

I heard if you live in California, seagull shit is the least of your worries. Is this true?

Yup, that's why I no longer live in California!

I know many of you are still saying the 27th and I have gotten a couple of dealers to tell me that date. However, the owner of the dealer group where I bought my car and where it is sitting has been VERY HANDS ON. I mean the guy has spent hours talking to me and trying to address this situation and is still telling me there is no remedy and he has no ETA for my car.

My wish is really that we had good info. I am not trying to be the bearer of bad news and I hope that I'm wrong and you guys can rub it in my face because at that point I'll at least have my car.

Happy memorial day weekend to all of you!

I can only hope they can fix it next week. Can I know when the last time you and your dealer talk ?

Disclaimer ... I'm not in a huge rush for my M2C - it'll get here when it gets here ... but for repairs to start in the next day or two suggests that somehow a couple thousand knee airbags, driver and passenger side, have made it from (I assume) a European or Asian supplier to the US, distributed to all of the dealers, ports of entry, and VPCs/VDCs all in the past day or two, and are now pending installation in the impacted BMWs.

Is this really even possible? What would the logistics/supply chain be to make all this happen this week?

Oh we'll see, but this recall started 5/4, so it's been a few weeks already. I've had a new transmission shipped over from Germany in 5 days. So I don't doubt the logistics and supply chain that BMW and all major car makers have established. Presumably the airbag parts won't be very large either.

And at the end of the day, I just want my car.. 🙂

And it's 5/27 boys! Not expecting much today, but figured it'd be fun to start the week off...

Did you try calling your dealership today? If so, what did they say?

Nah - figure they'll call me today or tomorrow if anything happened. Also, figure while sales and deliveries may be open, service will be closed.

Your CA should know, right, if they're staying on top of it for you. Guessing the CA isn't seeing any commission until they deliver the M2 to you.
