What I do want in my M2C is: - S55 - 6MT - Manually adjustable sport seats without heat or lumbar (M2 Performance Edition had this) - Basic keyless entry, without comfort access (M2 Performance Edition had this) - Single zone automatic climate control (M2 Performance Edition had this) - Base audio system instead of HK (M2 Performance Edition had this) - Adaptive LED headlights (only possible via Exec Package) What I do not want in my M2C is: - Automatic seats (add more weight if they are heated and had lumbar too) - Active Driving Assistant - Apple CarPlay - Heated steering wheel (Mandatory in order to have adaptive LED headlights, i.e. Exec Package) - Automatic high beams (Mandatory in order to have adaptive LED headlights, i.e. Exec Package) - Wireless charging (Mandatory in order to have adaptive LED headlights, i.e. Exec Package) - Wifi HotSpot (Mandatory in order to have adaptive LED headlights, i.e. Exec Package) - Speed Limit Info (Mandatory in order to have adaptive LED headlights, i.e. Exec Package) I don't know how much weight in total this small stuff adds up but I just don't want them. There may be several people taking advantage of these features but I know I don't need any of them. My point is BMW could have made all of them optional. If they really want to charge everyone $1200 (cost of exec package), I'm ok with that too. I'll pay $1200 for adaptive LEDs but don't give me that extra crap, at least let me opt out of what I don't want. Or give me manual seats as a no cost option and I promise I won't bitch why I'm paying the same price as someone who is getting the automatic seats. The bottom line is I have zero problems with the price point of M2C and all I want is just to deselect certain features/components while still paying what BMW wants me to pay. |

I keep saying there's a market for a 230is or, dare I say, 4 pot M2 CSL based on a juiced B48 (S48) putting out 320-350hp in lightened 2900-3000 lb chassis. Imagine that.

It is called base Cayman. You can pretty much walk into any dealer right now and get a 10% discount on any 4-banger 718.

And Porsche counts money on every sale right ? Why isn't bmw doing the same thing and maximizing profits by offering multiple levels of the same car? The only reason that there isn't an M2 base, M2 Comp, M2 CS, M2 CSL hierarchy already that also includes an M2 SEDAN and an M2 convertible is because BMW AG was skeered. Skeered of what would happen to their sacred cow 3/4 series .... and that's how they lost the luxury car sales crown to Mercedes. |

I agree with making things no cost options, rather than having them standard, I really have no care for active driving assistant, and would rather this be a no cost option for those who want it. But ill stick to driving my own car thanks bmw... |

I am going to assume that the M2C US/Canada rear turn signals are the color red instead of amber like the European version..
Add $700 for new Euro tail lights.. |

Shocking to see BMW stop using them on the M3/M4 after previously offering it on all pre-Early MY2018 cars. Even the $40k base Alfa Romeo Giulia has a CF Driveshaft, so not exactly sure why BMW decided to start skimping now on the much, much more expensive M3/M4s. |

European law require manufacturers to have amber color turn signals, so all their cars have amber turn signals over there. It's really funny to see an American vehicle in Europe with amber turn signals, which is usually all red. A lot of people prefer amber turn signals, especially if it's LED, so you're forced to purchase tail lights from Europe if you want that color. It's silly and cosmetic but I prefer amber. Hi Folks
I'm thinking of getting an M2C. I have Porsche macan turbo with all the goodies which is my daily for last 2 years. I enjoy and have no intention to sell it. I never owned an M car before. Had F10 550 and E70 before. F10 was good but not really a fun to drive. So the input I want from the guys who owned M vehicles is #1 Can M2 C be a daily, drive about 40-50 miles a day for work. #2 How much of different fun factor it will have or I will end up having two cars in the roughly same category. I was actually looking for a S5 or 435 convertibles to add as an additional car but for some reason my mind got stuck at M2C. It's just so crazy. Thanks for your input. |

An M2 is a More fun daily than a Macan. The end. I drive a RWD X1 as a daily and my 1M sits in the garage. Which do you think is more fun though?? Come on man ! Small car = more fun than small SUV which is more fun than BIG SEDAN. I know you own a Porsche so let's talk Porsche. what's more fun to drive a macan or a Cayman?? DUHHHH! How. Silly a question is that ?? Keep the macan and get the M2 and drive it on weekends. Or even daily if you decide it's more fun. Let us know. |
