We added an 18x10 ET40 VS-5RS for OG M2 owners or those Competition owners that have switched to aftermarket kits with smaller diameter rotors. This offset is a direct replica of the factory rear 19x10 ET40. It can be used in the rear easily for staggered 18" fitments, but it can also work well as a rotatable square fitment if used on the front with spacers and potentially camber depending on the tire size and model. 10mm spacers either lack a hubcentric ring or are slightly wider than 10mm with a compromised chamfer design to support the hubcentric ring. A true 10mm spacer has no room for a hubcentric ring without a large chamfer to provide the strength needed for the ring. Those chamfers have to be mirrored on the inner mounting face of the wheel and because they are oversized would reduce the engagement of the wheels on the hubcentric ring/OE hub for anyone not using a 10mm spacer. Some 10mm spacers on the market have a chamfer large enough to prevent the wheel from fully seating against the rotor mounting pad which can lead to premature hardware failure.
12mm spacers provide enough material to let us incorporate a moderate chamfer and fully support all of our wheels without compromises. -Tom

Project ML-10 Background: After Josh, one of our Senior Product Engineers installed a widebody kit on his race car project, he had to design a custom set of wheels to fit his extreme application. Originally a one off project, when he showed the team what he created, we were floored. And our community was too when we shared a picture on Instagram and Facebook.
