asked and answered...
one can spec *a* brake color on nearly any M car .. . Silver or red (in different ways) or original blue for M2 comp for example... and gold for M3 or M4.. And of course fashion colors are also available from M performance as indicated in post 260 Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 05-14-2018 at 07:05 PM.. |

But can you get those for an M car?
I thought that those were only available for the regular series cars...but I might be wrong.

The mounting points to hold the caliper to the body is different because it's made for a 370mm vs the M2's 380mm rotors.

He's the M2 Competition, the L.A. concession, local boys will spend a quarter just to shine the Hockenheim Silver bowl. Looking good, he's a crowd pleasing man, one on one, he's schoolyard Superman, crashing the backboard, he's Jungle Jim again... ...but according to an old Bavarian legend, he has a more powerful evil twin-brother chained somewhere inside a Black Forest batcave.

$100k+ M5 Comp doesn't have caliper colors to choose from...why would then someone think a sub $60k M car should have it? Like I said no other German brands offer it, not on RS Audi's or AMG Merc's. There is brake packages and whatever color they come in. |

It will be interesting to see what kind of access Shmee gets Mark(or Shmark), during this whole ordering process. Shmee seems to have some good BMW contacts.

2NH comes standard on Canadian cars. I assume it's because our market is smaller. Its the same when I ordered my focus RS. all options were standard including winter wheels and a car cover. :/
Well, if any M2 owners want grey calipers, .. Let me know. Quote:

And to be honest, the weight savings are not that amazing to see that big of a difference. I wouldn’t be surprised to see problems with people starting to ask questions when the windshield frame will start to leak or show rust (one of the most prone areas to rust anyway). The anticorosive bath is efficient and works as long as you don’t touch that layer and you don’t expose the metal. Once that is done (as you can see in the video), you have no protection at all. Even the smallest drill is prone to rust even if the water will not go in; the roof is one of the most exposed elements to moisture due to the cabin/exterior temperature differences. For that money, every element that is not “plug and play” should be installed by the factory. I am convinced that problems will apear and BMW will pay a hefty price to get this lesson. I just hope that our voices will be heard... Last edited by Teutonic; 05-15-2018 at 12:58 AM.. |
