I also noticed VRSF improved their website recently which is great! Their old website imo was really difficult to navigate and search for stuff.

I believe the competition has a higher fin density, VRSF can confirm that

I read about the Swedish do88 FMIC and, if I understand the text correctly, it has an increase in pressure of 18 %.
My noob question is then if this would eliminate any risk of increased turbo lag even on a stock car? |

I'm no expert, but to my mind, with the volume increase on the do88 being large ( its a well engineered bit of kit) the turbo is going to have to push alot more air to get up to pressure, so personally I can't see how it won't introduce lag on a stock car - I would expect a tune was needed. |

Why is the VRSF intercooler so much cheaper than the others? It seems to have good reviews. Why would I want the Wagner EVO 2 Competition or Active Auto Works FMIC instead?

Would Wagner Competition 1 be overkill for a stock-tune daily driver that does 1-2 track days a year? The most I would go mod-wise is a catted DP so not sure if the VRSF 5" HD is enough. I feel CSF would be too big for my needs.

The benefit of offering 3 different intercoolers for this platform means you don't have to compromise by going too big or too small. We offer a solution for every customer The VRSF 5" Stepped HD will outperform the Wagner Comp 1 and is generally recommended for customers interested in sticking with the OEM turbo. If you're looking to upgrade your turbo in the future, our 6.5" Competition will outperform any of the comparably sized options at a fraction of the price. |

Wagner EVO I and VRSF 5" HD are both great options for a stage 1 application

Mike, thanks.. when you say Wagner EVO 1 is good for stage 1 applications, are you talking about the performance or competition or either? I do like that the EVO 1 competition is lighter than the other options out there.

Has anyone had any experience with the Inter cooler from Tuner Motorsports?
Looks pretty decent and they have some first hand experience with racing BMW's... https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...d-intercooler/ |

Some initial logs on track with complete stock compared to do88 FMIC/water/oil coolers. No tuning. Slightly different types of track AND a (visible) cut out pause in the middle of the logged session with the upgraded cooling. I will log on the exact same track on monday!

Please can you let me know the responsiveness of the car with the do88 FMIC? Is there any noticeable increase in turbo lag, or is it actually more responsive? Did you change the charge pipe also? Thanks. |

No charge pipe or other changes to the car at all.
I haven't felt any differences in response or anything. That doesn't mean there could be some differences but I haven't been able to feel any so if there is it must be very small. |

I definitely recommend doing the charge pipe - it'll give you insurance against a blow out/cracked pipe and also improve the air flow. I wasn't expecting anything, but noticed improved throttle response from the charge pipe alone. I did try do88 charge pipe, but theyve had a batch of charge pipes released with too much paint on the throttle body end internal surface - I could not get it to go on at all - now with another brand (forge),although I wish the do88 had fitted as I could see it was going to be slightly better for max air flow. |
