When you cycle throught the on board computer the coolant shows like this
After 2-3 seconds, it becomes like this Dummy gauge Really dumb move An M car Has to have an oil gauge. It should even be a BMW Performance option instead of the ton of Carbon Products. |

Doesn't that use some kind of calculation to get a water/oil temp combo? I think it's explained somewhere around here...maybe the tech doc?

CF pics somewhat unsettling
looks kinda cheap and must be hard to keep clean. it also seems uninviting to the touch. given that it covers an area around the driving mode buttons and middle console i'm guessing it won't be something you can avoid. uae247, please do excuse me for asking, but what does it feel like? |

Well, that sucks. BMW trying to start a new trend with the "dry" carbon fiber. I'm hoping it's a taste thing and that I still like it. The idea sounds cool but doesn't seem like it's working out in practice.

I'm wondering if these can be clear coated, or something, I know open weave CF used on knife handles for example feel cheap but they do wear well and stay clean for the most part.

Photoshop error ...or did the editors mix up with the M2 CS instrument cluster ? This was also pointed out in the "BMW M2 Technical Training document: answers to many questions" thread (Feb 8, 2016). Unfortunately, recently that thread has mysteriously vanished from the M2 forum. Too bad, because it contained some interesting discussions. How it's shown (8.5K RPM) How it is (7.5K RPM):

I sat in the car at Houston Auto Show, felt the interior trim and liked it a lot, didn't feel like i would have any issues with it. Also i liked the overall look of it a lot better than the glossy CF trim in M3/M4.

That's just stupid; on par with the missing oil dipstick.

What good is just water temp, surely oil temp is just as if not more important, i use the oil guage to determine when i can start pushing the car from a cold start. |
