Dynamically, and mechanically, there's no question it's an amazing car. One of the few FWD cars out there that I'd say delivers a really great driving experience (based on reviews and friends that race them, I have not had the pleasure). I think the issue is the styling turns people off. I'm not super bothered by it, but I own all 8 FF movies too .

Thought I would join the conversation and give what info I have obtained. I am currently stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army and the BMW Military Sales group was provided either 4 or 5 allocations. I managed to get an allocation the first week of July. According to my dealer (and he showed me the progress tracker on the BMW website) my M2 CS should be delivered next week or the week after. It is being built in Leipzig not far from where I am currently.
Here is the link for the sales group over here that shows the allocations sold out. They all went in the first couple days of posting. https://bavarianmotorcars.com/en/aut...ew-O5N1cf.html The lack of allocations in the states is odd. My dealer was confused as well as to how they are producing the 5(?) for military sales in conjunction with the other Euro spec versions. One suggestion he mentioned was that the factory in Leipzig was scheduled to shut down in October for retooling and production may move to Mexico for the North American allocations, faster and cheaper delivery. All speculation of course. |

If they're starting some of the US spec production this week or next, you'd think they wouldn't be only doing 5 of them. GimmeanM, have you checked the 2020 models yet?

And there's no 202W listed? That's the code for the CS.

You're correct about USAA. As well as Navy Fed and likely any other US company for financing or insurance. The VIN for the CS is not registered yet. If you check on the NHSTA website it'll only pull the manufacturer. Even registering with USAREUR they needed to manually input the details. I have a family member who is an insurance agent and his guidance was to make sure your VIN, year, make, and model (to include the "CS" trimline) is all correct and clearly on your insurance policy. This way you have a better argument if they try to provide for a claim based on a 60k M2C vs an 84k M2CS. Then when the policy renews and the VIN is in their system the cost will greatly increase. Haha

I haven't even thought about the driving school yet, is it down in Munich? I've been using Allianz for insurance, I imagine they'll be able to figure it out or just throw it in as a European model for the time being. They seem to do the policies based on replacement price, so I just give them the MSRP whenever I do a new policy and that's what they list for coverage.

I guess I was the first military sales allocation. I've also been working with Antony, but Steve has been a huge assistance as well. My car just arrived at the dealer today and I'll be picking it up Friday morning. USAA definitely doesn't have the CS VINs in their system, but they gave me a nice rate for now (I'm sure it'll go up once their system is updated).

I'm hoping the USB drive still works from my X3, otherwise I'll be out of luck for navi lol. It did not work in my Mini but I just chalked that up to Mini doing something slightly different. They're almost 3 years old now so I'd like to get a new set but without Welt delivery that seems impossible.

I'm being told that the initial cars, September builds may be un configurable. Meaning they are going to show up at dealers as BMW NA spec'd them, dealer will not be able to change options.

That's insane, unless they are configure them in Musano blue, with ccb, gold wheels, Cup2 tires, and Alcântara steering wheel, with six speed, I think I'll be OK :-)
