I switched to a 255/275 set up on my 17M2 using PS4's and felt like the car handled better not to mention the tires filled the arches better. I have PSS installed on my 21M2C and and plan to switch to PS4 at the first opportunity. I felt more confident on the larger tires. |

And yes, the PS4S will give you better performance no question, it's a much newer design tire. |

For the rear they used the BMW* PSS from the ZCP M3/4. For the front there is no BMW* PSS in 265/35/19 as the ZCP runs 20s all around. That's why they subbed it in with the 255/35/19 from the regular M3/4.

Again, they used a 255/35 because the correct size of 265/30 wasn't available in the PSS.

This combo will not work and there is no reason for BMW to select this combo. |

Put your calculator down and go check the actual tread-widths and OD's. And regardless, this discussion isn't about an M3/M4 CS, so I really don't care what they wore or wear. |

Do you have any track time with these sizes I would love to run these w/o rubbing. Need to change tire for next season. My concerns are also around section width. I don’t like scraping off fender paint lol.

I finally swapped my stock contis for PS4S and increased the size to 255/35 and 275/35.
In my OG M2 with stock map, the contis could barely hold on in a straight line. Stage 2 it had no chance, and in the wet it was very nervous. The PS4S have been great so far - can hammer the throttle and it just goes. Will be interesting to see how it goes when I reflash stage 2, and also in the wet. Question - does anyone run coilovers and spacers with these sizes? I was running 12/10mm spacers but the rear rubbed occasionally. I did notice that the new tires poked a bit, as compared to the flush look of the originals. I've removed the spacers for now, but do feel they could be pushed out a little! |

Not sure about the rub, as that has to do with how hard you hit dips, but you'll poke for sure. Remember, the 12/10 spacers are to flush the wheels AFTER a drop, which causes increased negative camber, and therefore needs some spacing to get back to where it was before.

Honestly, I was getting ready to send Michelin an inquiry on why they don't make this size. I'm looking at purchasing new wheels, and I'm hoping this size will be available. |

Still funny that it's not showing up on Michelin's US website.

Sanity check:
Front: MP4S 255/35/19 on 19x9.5 ET28 wheel. Rear: MP4S 275/35/19 on 19x10.5 ET45 wheel. Lowered 1/2-3/4" maximum. Will it rub, or am I safe? TIA-- R. |

Currently thinking of making the switch to 255/275 as well. Im currently on stock setup but with eibach springs (~1inch drop) and 10mm spacers all around. The fitment is perfect for my taste and I don't rub so I kind of want to avoid messing with it but I do want a bit more grip in the rear.
If I make the change to 255/275 will I have to get 5mm spacers to achieve a similar look w/o rubbing or should springs and no spacers do the job close enough? Also is it time to consider camber plates at that point after making the switch? I do a few track days a year so nothing too crazy. |

Honestly, after doing a ton of research, if you want a wider tire in back, go with the 265/295-30 combination. It's a bit shorter (smaller diameter) than the stock wheels, but is within tolerances and will give you more contact with the ground. You should be able to compensate for the wider wheel gap with that combination as you have lowering springs. Just my 0.02. R. |

Replaced Contis with Pilot Sport 4S 255/35 front and 275/35 rear, otherwise stock everything.
Rides much better on bumpy roads due to larger sidewall (+3.5 mm), also much improved grip in tight turns is fun. Just able to break the rear loose with DSC off.
